car is technology and in detail is a kind of dangerous technology for the user and other people around. i consider cars a kind of technology that should be avoided as much as possible and government should help people to have mobility services with minimal use of personal cars.
nowadays, aren't biographies always written by someone the subject pays to do it? so, which is the difference if Wales just *honestly* edited his own data?
to summarize... yes: there are at least two alternatives: opengroupware + cyrus and suse's opengroupware (cyrus + openldap + comfire).
for client side: kontact (korganizer) is desktop ready. it is difficult to enable (and has many flaws at my advice) for workgroup environment, but is a very good for everyday scheduling, overall if integrated with palm (via kpilot).
openwebmail does already all of it, and much more, apart from having not being officially tested for heavy use.
hula hasn't mail filter, so it cannot be considered as desktop replacement.
gmail has the abstract of the first lines of the message, and nor hula neither any other opensource or closed source webmail application seems to have this simple feature.
i couldn't see either if hula supports a javascript WYSIWYG rich text editor. or international spellchecking.
i use openwebmail as desktop replacement (web)mail application so i can have my sent-email folder always synchronized independently if i work home, office or elsewhere.
i wonder how many lines of code are needed to implement such features in hula or openwebmail.org...
In my old-fashion low-tech Italy, former minister of economy Tremonti has done for next year the law for downloadable school books.
So Italy will save a lot of money because the state will not pay for books for poor families. And young girls and boys don't need to curve their thin shoulders under many heavy books.
Obviously, press firms are arguing.
I don't like generally Berlusconi's government, but i liked this move really a lot.
Moreover, due to strange political moves, Tremonti was fired soon after his last law, containing smart ideas like this one.
Actually the law doesn't talk about free (as in beer) books, but about books published in double format: paper and electronic. And the path is the right one.
your competitor product win4lin by netraverse ( http://www.netraverse.com ) costs twice as codeweaver and needs a patched kernel. but offers compatibility for a much bigger number of applications, though remaining much lighter and cheaper than vmware ( http://www.vmware.com ). moreover win4lin can't run programs that require win2k/xp, but can run today the macromedia package.
another approach to solve the problem of having a microsoft application on a linux screen should be the one of xwinx / xopenwin ( resp. http://xwinx.sourceforge.net/ and http://sources.redhat.com/XOpenWin/ ), two similar but great ideas that tragically haven't been developed as they deserve.
should wine / codecharge require some standard kernel fixes acknowledgments from linus to get easier job for u?
what do you think about these different architectures?
About 10 years ago in Italian football championship, "Milan FC" used to buy all strongest players, leaving many at simply watching matches all season along.
and i say: php
if javascript is called a language, than php is much more portable, can be compiled (through zend), works on command-line also.
php in 'net aware: files and urls are almost the same thing.
php has the best of all the best command-line tools.
in a few rows you can send and read email, convert between julian and frech revolution calendar.
it does easy semaphores and multiple number precision math.
it uses many sql servers as xml or db4 files.
it handles ncurses, html and images as input and output.
php is the macro of macros.
easy and fast.
vb is not a language, as delphi is not a language, as asm8086 is not a language. even java can hardly be called a language.
they are "working environments". their only purpose to live is within their environment. it is difficult to say where the environment begins and where the languange ends.
they work on the basis that there is a certain environment around them.
a language exists and "works" also on paper, without a computer elaborating it.
yes, fortran and c require "files", and sql requires "tables".
java can require a "bitmapped i/o" and a "sound i/o".
for java u can have many compilers (actually, many virtual machines, more or less optimized) for many platforms, so it can be said that it is a language that can be implemented on many digital machines.
but vb is a programming environment that only works within a perfect copy of the machine crafted to make it work. it requires certain events, certain windows, certain operating system structures.
if vb is a language, then also a wordprocessor file is a language. maybe it is more portable too!
anyway, vb is dead now and we should be talking about.net
Johnny Mnemonic (1995) had a mere 320 GB memory stick in his head.

i find this website so interesting: http://www.carfree.com/
privacy should be paranoid only when related to phisical person only: health, politics, sex.
i agree about the idea that if u want to use a weapon, like a car, u should be prepared to declare anything about that use.
i also agree with rfid systems and black-box for cars.
surely i think that travelling by train, cabs and pedal-bikes shouldn't be monitored no-way.

Milan won the championship.
Nowadays Berlusconi is Italian premier.
Maybe money can buy everything.

hasn't windows been copied from xerox' X-Window?
anyway windows is called this way because it adds (graphical) windows to dos (nowaday also).
imho the judge isn't wrong, but i think it's not something a judge is needed for.

there is this status bar that they want to hide.
...
in every win xp i use, i always have to specify i want the status bar.
also longhorn screenshots show that status bar is hated by microsoft look designers.
the average user should be then informed about:
- "right-click" on the link
- select "copy link address"
- paste in address bar
-
- profit
i think it is not easy to explain.
let the status bar survive!

p.s. i vote for firebird. best on linux and win. but camino on osx.
the english word "free" can be translated in my language (italian) in two ways: "gratis" (as free beer) and "libero" (as free speech).
so, fsf foundation states that in italian "free software" should be translated as "software libero" and not "software gratis".
anyway it is still difficult to explain that "open source" is not "public domain" to the end-user and windows-aware technicians, rarely good it techs.

ppp
