Proud of Reagan? From a foreigner's perspective, he was the worst. During the Reagan/Thatcher era the US and other countries were actively sponsoring terrorism in other countries. Eventually the chickens came home to roost and it is hard not to gloat. Pres Bush is an angel compared to Reagan.
Since 911, there hasn't been another. Whether the measures implemented by the security agencies in the US are too strong, or overreaching is debatable, but we have to give them credit that what they are doing is actually working so far.
I would guess that the side effects of breathing moon dust in vacuum, would be rather more extreme than drowsiness. Someone should launch an epidemiological study, a double blind test: 50 volunteers to breathe moon dust and the other 50 to breathe pure vacuum as a placebo...
Every time I get to fix a machine, it is one that other people tried and couldn't fix. In all cases, the machine is running up to date Norton or Mcaffee scanners.
Consequently, the first thing i do, is uninstall all anti-virus crap, then reboot into safe mode and install my trusted utilities: Anti-Vir, Spybot S&D, Adaware and Hijackthis from a CDROM containing the latest updates.
Lately however, I have run into the Smitfraud-C piece of work. This thing requires a dedicated remover called Smitrem, otherwise it just keeps coming back a few minutes after removing it. This is an incredibly crafty piece of junk which seems to be made by the New Zealand company Spyaxe.
MS has European offices. MS is actively trading in the EU. Therefore the EU has every right to regulate their EU operations. If MS doesn't want to play ball, then the EU can suspend their privileges and seize their EU assets to pay the fines.
Note that the EU is a larger Federation than the USA - it is the reincarnation of the old Greco-Roman Empire, which never really ceased to exist, it just suffered a few hiccups over the centuries...
Exhackitilly...
It is possible to configure MS Windows to be pretty well behaved, with Admin and User rights, but then some often used applications won't work. Consequently, even a badly configured *nix system is still better in practise.
One just has to think for a moment, why most routers and firewalls run Linux. Then think about the fact that the firewall doesn't have a firewall...
Yeah, that is the American pizza view of the world - the world extends to a few kilometers beyond the US borders and anthing further than that, falls off the edge and isn't worth thinking about.
The reality is that the EU is a larger market than the US. However, the EU is less dependent on Windoze than the US, so if MS would pull out, it won't hurt much.
If they continue to flout the law and pay the fine - a few things can happen: a. Shareholders can sue the company b. The EU can increase the fine c. The EU can impose an additional fine for contempt...
You don't understand - on a Unix system (Solaris, MacIntosh, Linux etc.) running a malicious program will only affect that user. The other users and the system itself will still be fine. On MS systems, the whole friggen system blows up. That is just stupid.

Well, logic has never been part of religious thinking.
Well, actually, that was an alien muslim spacecraft on a suicide mission...

Well, any moonestrials should be immune to moon dust... or maybe not, which would explain why there aren't any.
So, if you find yourself outside on the moon, without the luxury of a space suit, don't breathe in...
So, they detected a galaxy swirl in the cauldron of life. Now where is the ladle and the god stirring it?

Actually, we have had laws written down for more than 2000 years. Refer to Cato and Julius.

a. Shareholders can sue the company
b. The EU can increase the fine
c. The EU can impose an additional fine for contempt
All of those can hurt rather badly.
I don't see how this will affect terrorists/criminals, who will use stolen/rental cars with legit plates.
This is probably the only sensible comment here.

Hmm, that must have been the Big Poof...
This is nothing to sneeze about. I certainly am afraid of Wooly Mitochondria with long tusks. They are sure to cause one helluva bad cold...
