You don't understand how it works.
Using 4 overlapping channels, 1, 4, 8 and 11 is just as good as 1, 6, 11.
Having a whole bunch of access points on channel 6 isn't necessarily bad either, since the signal strength drops off very rapidly and the spreading codes are all different anyway.
This is spread spectrum technology - it is not as prone to interference as other modulation modes. That is why it works.
Actually, Telus has a very good IVR system: 1. Punch zero, about twenty times. 2. Swear profusely at the poor dork answering the phone. 3. Instantly get escalated to a higher level support person. 4. ??? 5. Profit^wproblem solved.
In my experience, the most important thing is to be 28 to 36 years old. Start from there and adjust all dates accordingly. If you are over forty - dye your hair and exercise so you look a bit younger. During an inerview, try not to talk about something that happened before the interviewer was born...
Hmm, well, I think it would be unethical to launch a recruiting drive for a declining industry. Students should have the right to sue the college if they can't find a job in a reasonable time after graduation. That will force colleges to train students in appropriate fields.

We can safely assume that everybody who read Sloshdat are in the 120+ category and that IQs above 140 are common too.
I tell my son that he needs to learn to do things he doesn't like as well, since a project only pays off once it is completed and all the menial litle details are taken care of.
Hmm, well, MS Outlook is a very good email program, but I doubt that it can rematerialize a hardware key logger from a bit stream and plug it in too. So, untill all PCs are fitted with Ixian Universal 3D Pantographs, I'm not going to worry much about this hardware keylogger threat.
Hmm, looks like I got things mixed up - it was a while before my mother was born, nevermind me...
Apparently, the first interlocking bricks were made from rubber and those were available around 1930 in the UK. The first plastic bricks were patented by Kiddiekraft in the UK and they sold their patent to Lego after WW2.
So, Lego was not the first maker of interlocking bricks and they did not invent plastic bricks either. It is a British invention. They bought the patent and marketed the hell out of it, about 20 years after - just like MS would have done.
See, like a good Sloshdatter, I managed to drag MS into the argument again!:)
If I just look at my own situation: Only about 30% of my income is from stuff that can be remotely described as Engineering or Computer Science related. The other 70% is from stuff that could be done by a beginner technician or artisan.
So, while 20% of EEs are completely out of work, I suspect that another 20% are severely under-employed. I'm working more hours than ever before and my income is about 50% of what it was 5 years ago.
Basically, I'm waiting for a bunch more baby boomers to retire...
Well, according to IEEE, 1 in 5 EEs in the US and Canada are out of work. That is a 20% jobless rate (about 40,000) amongst electrical/electronic engineers. So, outsourcing does have an effect on higher level jobs too.
Most important lesson to learn at a US Engineering/Science University: Ya want fries with that?

Yup, I think that MS Clippy will make a better IVR than most...

"The voters vote through making a cross on a piece of paper."
Well, it is somewhat embarrasing, but that is just far too complicated for an American.
Sorry, I just could not resist it!

It does work on cold ducts and you get a product called Real Duct Tape, that works on hot air ducts.

Yes, put a SEP Field generator on top of the mountain. That will make the whole mountain disappear.
(I think the Somebody Else's Problem generator was a Douglas Adams invention.)
No, blasting the mountain would be a cheap shot...
blast the top off the offending mountain?
Not easily, since a Celeron is basically a faulty P4 with no cache.

there was a UK company with a product called Montini.

Lego copied the idea and was better at marketing. Sorta the Microsoft of building blocks.
See, it IS possible to slam Microsoft even with something as simple as kiddie blocks...
