  1. Re:The logic of inaction on Your Thoughts on the Great Ozone Debate? · · Score: 1

Well, just doing something for the sake of doing something, can be harmful as well. You have to do the right thing. Ferinstance - if global warming is due to the sun warming up (the most likely cause of warming), then we may need to start working on a truly gigantic orbital sunshade. Doing anything else, isn't going to help. Feranotherinstance, if we spend oodles of money trying to cool the earth down, only to find that the sun stops getting hotter and global cooling sets in, turning the planet into a giant snowball again, then what? Also, what is the ideal earth temperature anyway? We sure can do with some more farmland, so thawing the tundra in Canada and Russia is a good thing.

The big problem there is that everything is submerged, including the pumps that are supposed to pump the water out. It is freakin hard to bootstrap such a mess. You cannot just turn the power back on either, cause you'll electrocute the emergency workers. Even the downtown areas that are presently dry could still flood, due to a lack of pumping ability. Only once the water is out, can people start to fix the communications.

There are companies that makes huge amounts of money from installing redirection software on computers, for example 180 Networks. The software effectively makes online purchases appear to originate from 180 Networks, therefore if a user goes to for example Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, or Dell, or anybody that pays referral commissions to buy something, 180 gets sent a commission. Obviously for this to work properly, new commission theft software needs to disable or remove existing commission theft software.
