you are pretty lucky then....i have worked with TEKsystems in Minneapolis and while they kept me working they did every thing they could to screw me out of every penny they could....lied to me at every turn and told me if i turned down low paying contracts i would be out of work for a long long time.....nice people though....took me out to eat every couple of months....

i also believe it is a good idea to question your governing authorities(local restrictions may apply) but i think it is another thing entirely to live in fear and jump at shadows assuming that every action that maybe used as monitoring will be....hell for all i care my goverment can install web cams in every room of my house and use the data where they see fit...except the bathroom....2 things i will not show is my defecation or masterbation...not that i have something to hide....just performance anxity
point taken.....but there have been cameras all over the downtown area of my city for years....if the goverenment wants to track you they have many other methods to do so. they dont need smart cards to track you....my point was more on the paranoia exibited in most of the comments here than on the technology used....why do most 'conspiracy theorists' always think governments care so much about them? seems rather conceited to me
jesus christ people!!! who the hell cares if they know where you are and where you go?!?! people i dont know see me doing this every fscking day!!!! the paranoia in the slashdot community frightens me. newsflash...there are satalites that can track movements of individuals already....there have been for years....there is nothing you can do to keep someone from spying on you or tracking you if they really want to do so....get over it...no one cares THAT much about you anyway

that sounds pretty cool actually...most of the geeks i have worked with wear computer company polo shirts as it is...this way instead of just wearing a novell shirt you could also display all your favorite software/hardware vendors...and you wouldnt have to spend as much money on clothes....
definatly have to agree with this one....i for one could care less if linux has the lead on desktop or not...i use it for what i want to use it for and wouldnt want it any other way....to say that there needs to be a desktop standard is kind of incompatable with the reason many of us use this...just selecting the default of the distro gets this functionality and allows the freedom for those of us who only want fluxbox or xfce or etc.....the average user cannot tell the difference between the windows desktop, kde, or gnome...only some very minor cosmetic differences
you know at first i thought you were skewing your own results by using different search strings for the 2. then i tried it using the same stings for both....the only different result i got with msn is when i used 'apple computer' no quotes as in google....that had the first result as apple.com but the other searches did result in shopping pages for the first several results
