I'll have to agree, the workmanship is poor, especially the picture marked PCMCIA slots. This guy is no finish carpenter. Maybe he should subscribe to http://www.taunton.com/finewoodworking/index.asp finewoodworking magazine for a while and try again once he's developed some woodworking skills.
Ok Troll, I'll bite
#1 the computer you're using now -- space exploration pushed the microelectoronics revolution
#2 that fancy koolatron cooler that you bought last summer to keep your beer cold, again thank space exploration
#3 teflon, plastics, most modern alloys, etc.
ok, I'm done feeding the trolls, next!
I tested positive for the exploit, and changing the dom.disable_window_open_feature.location to true under mozilla 1.4.1 (fedora core2) disabled the exploit.
Thanks for the quick fix!

Oh PLEASE! I started on an apple II when I was 14 and I was absolutely fascinated along with almost half of my class. Any one of us would have been just as fascinated with a machine that would blindly do our bidding at an even younger age. My wife is 6 months pregnant and I swear that as soon as I can my child will be in front of the computer learning with the latest kids educational games. Whether its on Linux or windows I don't really care as long as it help the child learn. Legos, tinker-toys mechano it doesn't matter as long as the imagination is is working. I was playing with 100 in 1 electronics when I was 10...was I ab-fucking-normal? I don't think so most kids I knew were and I wasn't in a bustling metropolis either. Rather I was in butt-fuck-northwestern Ontario with nothing but trees and rock. I'll probably end up finding an old c64, a 1541 and some old programs on 5 1/4 disk and turn my son or daughter loose on it as soon as I think they can grasp LOAD "*",8,1 or 10 print "hello" 20 goto 10
Anything that gives my child an advantage over idiots like you.

I just read through your analysis and I think you've nailed it. I've received many different versions of spam for the same product and company. A filter that looks for the url in the email is definately way to go and will probably be the future of spam filtering.
Back a few years a go I had a contract to service computers in a pizza chain. I got a call to come look at a store's computer that had developed some problems.
I got there and and was told one of the remotes wasn't working. I opened the case up and inside it all the cards were covered in mouse turd.
I traced out which remote wasn't working and pulled out the make table to discover a mouse had chewed the cables and died. It had died long enough ago that it had liquified and left a permanent "chalk line" around the corpse.
And yes they were eventually shut down.
As a software developer, you can disable the program you wrote if the customer decides not to pay your licence fee, however you cannot lock out THEIR data, it must always be viewable. If you make their data unusable you are asking to be sued.
Well that was the arguement for cutting back the space program years ago. Focus on domestic issues, spend the money on domestic problems.
Unfortunately nothing has changed, but you currently enjoy the benefits of the space program, such as that computer you're currently typing on. How about a more efficient care (computer controlled fuel injection). How about better communications?
As for the Russians, tell me there isn't instances of corruption in any democracy? Hm? The Russians are only a short time into a democracy in comparison to the US, "stability" takes time. Ans speaking of economies, there is no such thing as a stable economy per se, as an economy is constantly in a state of flux - new ideas constantly change the financial landscape Maybe the US should ratify Kyoto, since they effectivly killed it. Sure lets turn the US into the world's largest welfare state - I'll bet you bitch come tax time, and I'll bet you'd bitch even louder if your taxes went up.
If you don't like US foreign policy vote for a different president.
If the US stopped meddling in other people's countries to serve their own self interest the world would be a better place.
I'm glad the goatse.cx is gone, but I had to laugh when I saw this on kuro5hin.org:

To the tune of "American Pie" by Don McLean
I can still remember how that image used to burn my eyes
And I knew if I had my chance
I could hide a link in a rant
and maybe they'd be pissed off for a while.
But January made me shiver
with every link-troll I deliver
Bad links on the doorstep, I couldn't take one more step.
I can't remember if I cried
when I heard about his orphaned site
But something touched me deep inside
the day the goatse died.
So bye bye to the goatse site
Put his fingers up his asshole and his asshole was wide.
Yeah these old trolls were on Slashdot and K5
Singing this will be the day the Net dies
This will be the day the Net dies.
The problem is that you may not be doing anything illegal, however your pattern of deposits and withdrawls may make you look suspicious. Before you know it you could end up being held/charged for something totally innocent. Can you say police state?
But if I want to buy a digital camera or scanner....
I just bought a casio qv-R40 4MP camera. I was an impulse buying decision, and my attitude at the time was "If it works, fine, if it doesn't, I'll slip over to my windows partition to download the pics."
When I hooked it up, kudzu found the camera, and setup the necessary fstab entry and the camera icon automagically appeared on my desktop (rh 8.0 by the way). From there I was able to move the pics off the camera with no problems.
You might say I got lucky, but I think you might be over-researching - the only way you'll know for sure if the hardware will work is if you try it out!
Of course now that RedHat is going to abandon non-enterprise users...
Actually the free versions of Redhat that we've all come to know and love(/hate) is now a part of the Fedora project. So what if it doesn't have the Redhat brand name, its still the same thing, except now its more community driven!
Maybe I'm being a bit paranoid, but wouldn't the first nasty pot hole/speed bump kill the hard drive?
Have hard drive manufacturers made notebook drives able to withstand the extreme g forces that could be encountered in a vehicle on a day to day basis? Does someone have real experience/data having a hard drive last for any length of time in a car?
I just pasted the code into mozilla mail and emailed my outlook express 6 client and it caused it to crash. (Go figure) I haven't tried outlook 2000 yet. Anyone want to give it a shot?

Regarding the spoof of strawberry shortcake at penny-arcade.com
I think that your company is over zealous with its requirement to remove the parody comic from it's web site. You should be aware however your action been posted at several online news forums about your meager attempt at censorship.
A pardoy is just that and it in by no means hurts the trade marks, nor does it cause confusion with the original work. I have also written a letter to the creator of the parody urging him to stand up your legal department and challenge your stupidity in court. If he chooses to do so I will gladly donate to his legal efforts.
Furthermore, I will urge my family, friends and co-workers never to buy any product from american greetings ever again, unless this sillyness by your company comes to an end.

It is more than that, as I just setup a friends dual boot machine on a 120G drive split 50/50 win98/linux.
Actually the plural of moose is meese.
mouse = mice
goose = geese
Therefore...
moose = meese!
