Shill bidding is pretty easy to detect if they try not to pay ebay the fee by ending the auction early. If they do that often enough they'll have a problem as ebay is pretty ruthless about collecting their money. If they pay ebay the fee then shill bidding is self limiting.

I'n not sure what it's worth since it's cupronickle. Canada had solid nickle nickles because of that big meteor strike they mined. They quit making them some time ago. I've known about this for a while and it's nuts and shows fiat currency might as well be plastic. Right now copper or copper clad zinc pennies are worth more than face value. I think the metals market may have stabilized but have not looked recently.
I repaired Sharpvision LCD projectors at one time and the metal halide bulbs were very sensitive to ventilation issues. If the filters were the least bit clogged the bulbs would die faster. They did have temperature sensing but it was not enough to stop the shortening of bulb life. They did not have an airflow sensor but did have a tachometer in the fan which did nothing to measure airflow.
They did well with the special power supply for them, it was intended to preserve bulb life and uniformity.
In very new, squeeky clean homes they seemed to do almost a year but I don't know how often they were used. In stinking cigarette clogged bars they'd die every other month if not sooner. Because in one model Sharp put the fan on the bottom it was an excellent path for the drunks drink to spray all over the espensive electronics.
Bad desings were money for me.:) But I don't have to go in shportsh bars anymore which is much more important.
I just had an excellent offer. So good I had this 'wow cool new job' glow along with a math and critical thinking dysfunction.
I announced it in my blog and got some pretty good advice. Then I talked to someone that systematically and with great glee hacked my math affliction to shreads with such glowing things as COL, taxes, relocation, benefits, etc etc etc. By the time they were done flaying me with their experience, knowledge and math prowess I was IN THE HOLE 3k for the first year. I also got some other information on the assignment, it's a high pressure sweat shop with extremely high turnover.
I'm fortunate that I hadn't run skipping off to wonderland. I did get the paperwork and it's a contractor for a contractor for the government. The base rate is LESS than I now make but they pad the fee by calling it 'per diem'. Since the job lives or dies on the government contract it's mostly a fancy temp job.
I let the recruiter stew for a day and then talked to them and managed to get more money offered but at that point I wasn't even interested in baiting them further. He pretty much cut me off and said 'thanksforyourtime' and hung up.:)
It will allow the smarter kids to learn to hack the AI for fun and profit and will keep the stupid under control and in check of their technological masters.

The radio station is a murderer. I'm damn tired that when a corporation kills people it gets a slap on the wrist. I want everyone in it tried for murder and their assets taken to pay for this mess.

Then put a moratorium on that frequency allocation to be held without corprate use for 10 years, it may be used for any other purpose except for it's use by any corporation whether thay are for-profit or not for profit.
When the music industry finally realizes that they can sell you a digital DRM'd to hell download and mail you a pretty poster album cover the howling will make more sense.
