This story reminds me of a text book I once purchased that was about cross platform programming using windows. What I failed to realize until after I purchased it was that the platforms were Windows 95, 98, NT 3.51 and NT 4. Also what is so impressive about saving data that is not dependent on the platform, or are microsoft still simply dumping memory and calling it a file format?
In Australia, a call to 000 from a mobile phone will result in call charges. If the caller instead dials 112 (the international emergency number), the bill is picked up by the carrier. Also 112 can be used in areas where there is no mobile service.
Hey, your link didn't work. I tried to "click here to see a cute kitten" but I didn't see anything, can you email me the link my email is administrator@desktop_pc-10543.nasa.gov thanks
Another possibility is that the planet does not originate from the star it is orbiting. For example, the planet may have been in an unstable orbit around star 'A' and eventually escaped from star 'A' it traveled through space until it was caught in the gravitation of star 'B' and began to orbit. The orbit of the planet around star 'B' would be based more on the direction and angle it approached star 'B' as opposed to the spin of star 'B'
Just my theory.

"For example, if a patent license would not permit royalty-free redistribution of the Program by all those who receive copies directly or indirectly through you, then the only way you could satisfy both it and this License would be to refrain entirely from distribution of the Program."
Nowhere does this state that it is only the owner of the patent is unable to distribute the program (in this case, the kernel). That to me says the following *could* happen:
1. Microsoft releases drives under GPLv2 2. Microsoft code enters mainstream kernel 3. Microsoft starts enforcing patents covering released drivers 4. As the patent license does not permit royalty-free distribution of the program (as Microsoft would license the use of patented drivers) no body is allowed to distribute the program.
Whoever has the job of saying yes or no to the inclusion of this code should really say "NO".
Road side maps will no longer have the big sticker "You are here" to mark your location but would have a big sticker "You are here, right now" to mark your position in space time. Wow.
That is a nothing patent. Here is something that would be scary:
A method and apparatus to prevent the installation of an unauthorized operating system over an authorized installation of an existing operating system.
"Why I would want an uncompressed image from my 2-megapixel POS camera with a crappy lens, I have no idea."
Because it uses the super crappy jpeg compression code which will give even worse results. At least if you can capture in raw you can do post processing with you crappy computer without the jpeg artifacts.
I think if these global warming... I mean global cooling... ah, climate change scientists would actually mention that now is the time of year where the ice recedes as it has been summer here in the southern hemisphere and as everyone knows ice melts in the sun. check out the ice in 6 months when it has all frozen over again.
Oh, and before you mod be down remeber this:
I have karma to burn. And when it burns it will melt all the ice and you will all drown in my climate change causing karma burning wild fire!!!!!

The problem with red light cameras are that they are marketed as a fine producing product, ie you run a red light and you will get a fine.
They should be marketed as an automatic system that will dispense a temporary, one use license for you, the motorist to proceed through the red light. Fees and charges may apply.
Motorists will then see the red light cameras as a vending machine which empowers them to get to work quicker.
Actually, the "Arm" used in this context is in reference to the new clock generator. There is a crank handle attached to the CPU. Each revolution of he crank by the operators "arm" will generate 1 clock cycle. This in conjunction with another crank handle which generates power for the computer will allow the user to easily overclock the computer.
The benefit of journaling file systems is that after the crash you still have a file system that works. How many folks remember when Windows would crash, resulting in a HDD that was so corrupted the OS wouldn't start. Same with ext2.
If these folks don't like asynchronous writes, they can edit their fstab (or whatever) to have the sync option so all their writes will be synchronous and the world will be a happy place.
Note that they will also have to suffer a slower system, and possible shortened lifetime of their HDD, but at least there configuration files will be safe.
But will their hot air be enough to offset all the crap they are full of?

I use the MD5 compression algorithm to store my data. I still haven't found a good MD5 decompressor yet.
