I use agile methods to play games! First iteration: stay alive for 2 seconds... dang failed. Second iteration: run a different direction... dang dead again. Third iteration: jump, then run, anywhere... dang dead. Fourth iteration: press buttons and randomly move stick... not again! The game developer's management loves me, I can't get off level-one.
I'm on an H1B and I make well over 100k a year. I'm not a junior programmer and my employer spent a year trying to find an American to fill the position. I'd have been promoted long ago if the H1B allowed it or if the green card process didn't take 7 friggin years to complete.
You can't generalize about H1Bs like this. Sure it makes for reactionary fodder at slashdot but it's way too simplistic for reality.
My O'Reilly Java in a Nutshell book has a tiger on it and it has... uh... something to do with computers. O'Reilly better look out because Tiger-Direct (AKA the new SCO) is coming after you!
If you run any software that needs OpenGL then you will definitely install new drivers to fix bugs in 3D applications. New graphics cards come out so often that it seems like very little QA is done on the drivers. Frankly they suck.
It seems like everytime I use a new 3D application I have to install new drivers to make it work properly.
Professional engineers are licensed by the states/provinces to ensure the public safety. The most grievous programming mistake may put a company out of business but couldn't hurt anyone.
Does the tariff benefit the worker or the consumer of the products/services? A protectionist tariff may have short term benefits but it hurts in the long run.
The key is to be more valuable as a developer than your offshore competition justify the extra expense. Sadly, that's not easy for most software developed these days.
I kind of like the blue corn tortilla chips. I agree though, green chips are the ones you don't eat.

On what planet is 20 minutes a long build time? Try 8,12,16 hours depending on the hardware available. Then you are looking at a long build.

Umm, shoplifting Red Hat Enterprise Linux?
Damn right. Stop playing all these games and get back to work! Stupid lazy programmers.

YMMV
You lost precious seconds with the unnecessary braces. Maybe you should rethink your print statement.
I almost want to buy something from IBM. Almost.

OTOH, Microsoft
