Thanks Nitrozac for speaking up. I'm a guy, and I too find this hate-speak to be really unacceptable. I just don't understand the reasoning behind letting it continue. The only real reason I can see is that Slashdot wants the banner hits from these creeps.
Unfortunately, in the long run, it means less banner hits, as intelligent readers go elsewhere. Hey, I go to Segfault now that's it's been cleaned up, and I congratulate the guys there for making the changes.
...make some high quality molds of the whole thing. Then sell the reproductions to geeks like me who would love to have a full sized T-Rex, but can only afford a $999.99 T-Rex replica.
So far, Nitrozac hasn't featured you as a character in her cartoon After Y2K.
Considering she had included such geeky Linux celebrities as Linus Torvalds, Eric Raymond, and Rob and Hemos, does this bug you, or effect your business decisions in any way, and how far would you go in order to get her to include you?
In fact, isn't it true that the whole Corel Linux thing is just an attempt to be immortalized in After Y2K?
The word "geek" has become such a positive word lately, I was wondering if you consider yourself one.
In other words, how do you "think" of yourself. Would you say to yourself "I'm a tech guy", or "I'm a administrator", or "I'm an educator guy"?, or "I'm not a geek, I just play one on my WozCam".
Have you ever seen Nitrozac's web comic After Y2K?
Your cartoon duplicate plays a recurring role, and often has the best lines:) . I know Nitrozac is a big fan of Woz, are you by chance a fan of Nitrozac, and what's it like being such an inspiration to other geeks.
I'm a big fan of Nitrozac's comic... I think it's one of the smartest and funniest things to come out of the 20th century.
What's bugging me lately, besides that millennium thingy... is why do normally intelligent people (including Cmdr Taco) assume the comic will be ending? (Nitrozac has made it very clear that it won't be ending, and that the comic will continue!)
Perhaps they suffer from some kind of Y2-Brain Bug that prevents them from reading the first word of a two word title? After all...the comic is called After Y2K!
Oh Nitrozac... cheers on standing up to the agalmatophilic idiots that try their hardest to spoil things around here! All the best in the New Year!
Hacker Hats are pretty cool. I got one with a propellor and I love it. It lets me join that long geek tradition of wearing a beanie, but still appear menacing to my boss.;-)
I'll let the ad speak for itself....
"Our caps aren't like those goofy joke ones you'll feel like a nerd wearing.;-) These are the Rolls Royces of Propellor Caps,...quality beanies for seriously fashion-conscious geeks!"
And now, the really important question everyone wants to ask... What is it like being immortalized as a cartoon character on Nitrozac's After Y2K! Looking buff by the way!
Perhaps those would be more to your liking... MR. BILL GATES!!! It's obviously you isn't it? Only Bill Gates, who is sooo bitter about being locked in the bathroom, would post such a comment.
Ah, Ozzie and Millie...yet another three panel black and white strip... and you wonder why it's perhaps not "making" it on the Web? Nitrozac's work exploits the medium of the web to it's full potiential... full color, animation, sound, non-standard layouts, polls with additonal comics, midi music, and she even used a form submit right in her comic one time! That and every day of the week. We love you Nitro!
Imagine recording all your old girlfriends with such a device? Or buying the latest version of some hot Hollywood babe? Sounds like an interesting future we're headed for... Hmmm, now if only Nitrozac would release Nitrozac Live v. 1.0!
Ditto to that... and may I be the first to suggest an After Y2K book (or mini-series would be fine too). Nitrozac has burst on the scene as one of the funniest, most creative, and hottest talents in years! Hmmm., maybe I can raise enough capital...;-)
There are geek babes out there! I found one at After Y2K. Her name is Nitrozac, and she's a Techno Talking Babe! Unfortunately I seem to have some competition, as most of her other readers have crushes on her too;-) Her latest "appearence" in the comic is here. Dig those boots!
For Mac, SoundJam(TM) MP 1.0 is just out and pretty cool. http://www.soundjammp.com/ (by Casady and Green) The Melt o' Rama psyhcodelic screen is great, especially when listen to Geeks and Space mp3's
The real story here is that there's a new man on the moon... Eugene Shoemaker!!! Some of his ashes were carried by the spacecraft. Must admit I teared up at the thought of good old Eugene finally making it to the Moon.
Absolute have to agree... this comic is FUNNY!!! and beautifully illustrated! The amount of work Nitrozac puts into it is really evident (a run through the archives is a must!). I loved the Geek Pride Day one with the ghost of Charles Babbage, and the Linus Torvalds Linacus, and oh ya, the Matrix parady, and the Star Wars Episode II parody... guess you can tell I'm a big fan;-)

Looking at all that gold coin you are lounging on over on After Y2K, you could buy probably pick up a considerable amount of Be's IPO! Hey, can I come to your next pool party? Such pretty girls....

It would still be the coolest thing!

Nitrozac's done a great comic with that Balmer/Gates photo... well worth a click over to After Y2K
;-)
And again I ask... Nitro, please marry me

Nitrozac has the real answers, check out her TransMeta Secret Lab.
She also revealed they have discovered the entrance to the Hollow Earth... I believe her.

Oh, will you be speaking at Abacus World Expo?
Keep us laughing all the way into the Apocolypse!
Why would you bother to post this, and under anonoymous coward too? Why not post your real email so you can get the attention you're looking for?
Oh, I believe they have a place for creeps like you... it's called Segfault.org.
Is there anyway a moderator can send this straight to Hell so Nitrozac never has to read this kind of garbage?
Perhaps those would be more to your liking... MR. BILL GATES!!! It's obviously you isn't it? Only Bill Gates, who is sooo bitter about being locked in the bathroom, would post such a comment.

There has been a major event on 9/9/99, ... the evil Bill gates cartoon just took over After Y2K! Help us Nitrozac, you're our only hope!

This is great, a Toronto office! Hopefully they will ship from Canada too, as the border duties/broker fees really suck!
