With a DVR you can skip TV ads, and I do. With pop-up blockers and user stylesheets you can remove internet ads. Gets quite a bit harder to get rid of magazine ads, but maybe that's why I hardly buy magazines anymore. I'd rather pay a small fee for quality content if ads were not generating enough revenue.
Since the probe will never leave our solar system, if said sufficiently advanced alien species can travel millions of light years to catch the probe, they might as well travel a few more light minutes to visit earth directly.
What utter tripe. No research involved. They're basically trying to hop onto the voip journalistic bandwagon and pretend like they actually have something insightful to say. Guess what, people have been using voice communcation while playing games over the internet for close to 7 years now (Roger Wilco came out in 1999 I believe). Instead of doing something interesting like maybe writing about the history of video game voice com technology, they try and pass it off as if MS and EA are big innovators who came up with the idea.
Actually that's a good question. I listened to an interview recently on CBC with the head of the Canadian Space Agency, Marc Garneau. He said that Canada really wants to be a part of the successor to the space shuttle, but at this point it wasn't looking like there would be much of an opportunity to contribute. If the CSA feels like they will be left out of the next American project, maybe they will be more inclined to seek a partnership with this new venture. The CSA and Canadian aerospace companies have quite a bit of experience and technical know how, I'm sure whatever project they go with they will contribute well.
Actually, just like the current trend indicates, reduced size of technology leads to great choice and options. We'll see tiny computers and large computers, cell phones and supercomputers. You can't say "they'll likely stay the same size" since we already have computers that vary greatly in size; that trend will continue.
lol, impure pot. That's a good one. You're doing a good job showing how ignorant you are about drugs, while at the same time preaching about how people should treat drugs. Before you preach, try learning about the subject first. Nobody is saying "weed is harmless", it certainly does effect you in some bad ways. However, the effects of alcohol are arguably worse for the body then weed. Both have the potential to ruin someone's life if abused to the max. Both also have the potential to offer some pleasure when used in moderation (and in some cases offer medicinal value also). Hash is not worse then crack, or heroin or many other opiate/poppy derived drugs. There is no "weed is harmless" mantra being spouted here so you can save your "smoke a joint and your brain will rot" scare tactics for your kids, it's obviously the way you learned about drugs.
I think his point was that you can't really blame pot for this guy molesting this girl, because all you're doing is taking her word for it. There's no proof one way or another that the weed is the cause, and from all other accounts weed does not make you a child molester, it makes you a twinkie molester. How do you know what this guy was thinking, before or after doing pot? You don't so it's quite silly for you to blame the whole thing on weed.
How is 'podcasting' innovating anything? It is simply using RSS the way it was intended to be used. Of course all technology is built on other technology, but new technology needs to add something new to the mix. Podcasting does not, it is simple RSS.
The problem people have with podcasting and the like is that the term implies that there's a new innovation involved. Email was a new innovation, mp3 was a new innovation, rss was a new innovation. Combining mp3 with rss is NOT a new innovation, it's simply using a two tools in concert.
While we're at it, all criminals should be either executed or set free. Because everything is black and white, and there's never any middle ground. Yeah.. that makes a lot of sense./sarcasm
What you're forgetting is that there are valid reasons to differentiate between things that should be patented and things that shouldn't. In fact the patent system already takes such things into account. You cannot for example patent a mathematical algorithm. This is a valid and logical thing to dissallow from the patent system, the big problem with software patents is that software is a mix of mathematical algorithms and creative innovation. It takes careful examination to tell which side of the fence a certain program or system falls on. Yet, the patent office doesn't seem to realize this, or doesn't have the skill to deal with it, and therefore tends to grant patents that are nothing more then simple mathematical algorithms with no innovation.
When customs officials are reviewing people for acceptance into America, they check to see if you're a criminal. If you are, you won't be allowed in. Just because some people are criminals, they don't ban everyone from coming into the country, they examine the person with skilled employees on a case by case basis and make a decision. This is what the patent office *should* be doing, but they are failing and in the meantime letting all kinds of criminals into the system.
So is it a game engine or not? They are very clear on the site that they are designing it as a game engine and platform to allow developers easy to use tools for all their needs. Sounds basically like the Unreal or iD offerings. The only difference is their package is not finished yet.
Quote directly from their website: The Offset Engine is a complete platform for creating next generation games. Though it aims to be a top tier engine, OE is not just built with large developers in mind.
What an odd mentality. Are you even aware that Yahoo has arguably better (and popular) international services and websites than Google? It is no more American centric then Google.
You know, the people who prefer one Linux distro over another have reasons for having that opinion. The only reason that supports your 'principles' seems to be an uninformed idea that Yahoo is more American centric then Google.
I wanted to find the song that is used on the Dave Chappelle show as his intro music (when he walks onto the stage). I managed to find an artist name and title, popped it into the yahoo audio search and the first result is a link to soundclick that has the song as a free stream to listen, or free mp3 download if you sign up.
Wow, I just tried to search for a song I've been trying to find for a little while with no luck in google, and bam first result there it was, free download.
Is this a trick question or something? Prison is prison, it's no picnic in the US. You'd be a real idiot to choose 10 years in US prison over 1 week in Chinese prison.
Valve is not stupid enough to abandon Steam. Steam is their vision and plan for the future, without HL3 they would lose a lot of money. Obviously Valve is very close to MS with Gabe Newell being a former employee and all, so perhaps we'll something like HL3 being exclusive to the Xbox360, among the consoles only.
Maybe there's the flip side of the coin. Valve would also like to have more games on their Steam platform. EA's library would do nicely I'm sure. Perhaps this deal is only the beginning.

It's probably a lot cheaper to do it that way using a stock car. If the end result is the same, what difference does it make?

Umm, the ESA has yet to put a man in space by themselves, and their last mars lander failed miserably.

He's only pretending to make a post, in an effort to get his blog link on a highly trafficked site.

Good grief, they just keep adding billions to their coffers, quarter after quarter.
If you hate sponsored results, you must hate Google more then Yahoo. Because there's more sponsored results in Google search results than Yahoo.
Maybe, just maybe it's not 'nothing but bullshit'? Perhaps there are sites out there that offer services that you don't like. Imagine that.

Are you living in an alternate reality? Or are you just smoking some good shit...
