IIS shouldn't be in the equation at all. It's due to be shut down in 5 years and is arguably a waste of resources anyway. Considering the cost, very little benefit has come out of the ISS program.
I anticipate it being kinda like the iPhone in the long run. Gen 1 is pretty...and mostly useless. Gen 2 gets more right. Gen 3 gets MOST things right. Gen 4...finally.
Obviously this is a really annoying model for the consumer...but who ever said Apple cares about the consumer...?
They should force scrum drivers to wear full business suits and bring all the staff in tiny, un-air-conditioned rooms. That way the longer they are, the hotter the room gets. Either the driver is going to pass out, or the developers are going to jump him.
One of the biggest flaw to a stand-up/scrum though is that rarely are scrum masters gutsy enough to enforce the rules... 5 minute scrums often end up in hour long tangential time-wasters. Not that I don't agree with you in theory though. I've just had FAR more scrum meeting failures than successes.
"full capabilities of an hdtv?" I have a 24" monitor on my desk in the next room with higher resolution than my 1080P in the living room. The "full capabilities" of HDTVs were outdated years before they hit store shelves.
That said, you can surf the web right on the PS3 w/out linux at all.
You can play emulated games on the PS3 as well, or you can just use your desktop or laptop computer. They sell them on PSN all the time.;-)
I'm lucky enough to work in an environment where I never have to print anything... I think in the past year I might have printed 2-3 things....if that.
I work at a media company that makes it a habit to delete any emails from the exchange system that are older than 60 days for that very reason. If they delete the stuff, it can't show up in court.
MONO is (supposedly) very well engineered, but it's always going to be hard for it to keep up with MS. Obviously no one can "predict" what MS will do next.
NASA called the guy because they thought he launched a rocket.
Wrong. He's in europe. NASA has no "jurisdiction" there and would not have called him to check on whether or not he'd used a rocket. Calling about a rocket would have been the job of the EASA or the ESA.
Yeah I dont think anyone would deny that even with ms "losing" steam, it's still the biggest thing out there.
While what you said has a lot of merit, there are obviously other contributing factors as well.
Windows failed to advance for a long time while other alternatives DID progress.
Windows was plagued by a slew of very public security "whoopses."
The MS alternatives came up with some great marketting and sales lines that pulled a lot of people away.
I'm sure other people could add plenty to this list.
Japan? EU?

I didn't think the video game industry was a 40+B industry in the first place....
Apple's market share is still substantially lower than Microsofts. They're sitting at about 6% of the personal computer market now...
Not that I disagree with you though. Apple's time will come. This crap is getting uglier by the moment.
Trac + some extensions should do the trick.
Activestate offers a great setup for a relative bargain that seems to do everything you're looking for.

haha, thanks.

You're exactly right about the 15 minute conference call. No one is complaining about 15 minute meetings here there.
embraced homebrew? You'd better qualify that statement. Sony has waged a CONSTANT war on homebrew for years....
The point is that the "full capabilities" of a 1080P HDTV are not all that amazing. Frankly 1080P is over 10 years outdated...
If Sony wasn't so overbearing and stupid with their anti-homebrew efforts, people wouldn't have to "attack" their security.

Only if people are printing emails...
I laughed out loud. Well put....and I'm allowed to say so.

That's exactly my point. I was correcting the sentiment of mcgrew
Except there's no evidence that this particular set of hardware can run mac at this time.
