The thing is, anything "professional" will probably be using something like optical audio inputs into a recording system. Anything not professional will probably be using some sort of cheap mixer or a light snake which goes into the USB port.
The line in port just isn't needed any more....
Of course I may stand corrected by the time this thread is over.
I've got AT&T DSL and it's the worst internet connection I've ever had. Unfortunately it's all that's available where I live. It's slow (3mbps connection that usually runs at about 1/5 of that) and it randomly disconnects about once an hour and takes a few minutes to figure out how to reconnect....
It's a pretty standard model. At my workplace right now we're on 1.0.88.3494 on one of our products. First major, working toward the first minor, 88th tag, tagged from trunk svn revision 3494.
I think this movie could re-gain some lost loyal fans. The fact that it wipes the slate clean and pretty much starts the franchise over again is a GREAT thing IMHO. Yeah, it's a little over the top, but that's probably what the franchise needs... Everyone is sick of stupid buzz words that don't mean anything, sitting along side a totally swiss cheesed universe.
On that note, gaming benchmarks from the tech sites in Vista are often better than XP, but on my PC in particular I get around 15-25% LOWER performance in Vista than on XP. It really all depends on the specific PC you're running it on. (I'm on a 2.8ghz C2D, 8800GTX, 2GB ram, 320GB Raid-0)
You missed my point... No one will EVER pay that money back. They couldn't tax the americans enough to do so even if they wanted.
In short, the fed is printing out money that will never be repaid. Our taxes from here on out will always go to a budget that will always be in deficit. We're not PAYING for any of that crap and we never will.
If you recall, the lunar lander attached to the re-entry capsule on the way there and the way back and added a LOT of room that wasn't there originally. I'd imagine that for a trip to mars, they'd do the same thing, just have a bigger lander/whatever module.
What I've seen is that age doesn't really mean a dang thing. Experience does.
Even in our present economy there are tons of places dying to get their hands on a decent programmer or two. My present employer is having a heck of a time finding any decent C# programmers out there of ANY age. The only hirable C# programmer they've already managed to find is in his 40s....and the guy seems to be pretty brilliant. They've been looking for months...
I think the claim of ageism is pretty much completely unfounded...
The problem isn't with the children. It's with their idiotic parents who think the school system is in place to raise their kids. If the parents taught them an ounce of respect as well as right-vs-wrong, in addition to enforcing rules and discipline, crap like this wouldn't happen.
I think step one should be skipped. If they text in class, they shouldn't have a "warning." They're breaking a rule that they are 100% informed about and the 1st time is not somehow "better" than subsequent times.
I worked at a college using the groupwise e-mail system and the same thing happened. Someone sent out an information email to all students and instead of BCCing the entire list of addresses, they were all plopped into the "To" field. It bounced around forever and everyone was completely confused.
Luckily it wasn't my department and I didn't have a student email account, so I was immune.
Long story short, the system did survive unscathed....
While in your example that's probably true, I personally like it because it's a quick and brainless way to communicate with friends. It's just fun. Organizations find it's useful as a good way to update people, but past that it's not a serious experience, and shouldn't be treated as one.
I figured out it was a hoax when i got down to where it says it will run "Linux, Windows, or Mac OS X."
Palm is a software shop... Why would they give up the one (semi) valuable thing they have? There'd be no reason left to even consider them.

And watching netflix on my xbox 360 puts me in....which one of those categories?

I don't know why they went with the F-22 over the "F-23" anyway. It was a better plane on many levels...
I have to wonder if the writer of that comment happened to look at the slashdot source. Not a table in sight.
Using tables to design sites has been on the way out for quite a long time.
Oh come now... Transformers is a decent movie.

Interesting. I was unaware.

On the contrary, our taxes aren't supporting Iraq, Afganistan, or the bailout. The federal reserve bank is.

Children will do what you teach them is OK to do.

Voting requires registering to make sure you only vote once ;-)
Uh, hardly. The less brainpower it takes to operate ANYTHING, the better. :-P
Yaknow, I had that thought while I was typing that comment...

afa clintons are concerned, the term coined was "arkancide" if I recall.
Buy them at walmart.
