I think Nintendo heavily targets kids, age ranging from around 6-15. What really makes me agree with the statement is that most of the core games Nintendo releases (most especially Mario) is more-or-less an interactive cartoon.

That's changing with the Wii. Nintendo designed a controller adults could also use, packaged a bunch of sports games adults would want to play, and are spending $200 million on an ad campaign targeting adults and non-gamers. Hardcore types still get games like Zelda, but Nintendo wants everybody playing the Wii.

Not much at all. The vast, vast majority of water vapor comes from moisture exchange from ocean surfaces, for instance.

Volcanos and oceans are the major contributers to greenhouse gases. When you add up the numbers, we contribute less than half a percent. But you won't here that from the alarmist crowd. Just look at the article summary--"Global warming is proven and inevitable! By the way, here is evidence that it's not. But ignore it!"

Just like that "global cooling" nonsense we heard so much about in the 70s.

I didn't put any thought into how I set mine up, and I did no tuning. I just plopped the bar on top of my television and turned on the Wii, and it works fine. The remote is pixel-level accurate and very easy to use. I can't wait to use the new Expert mode of Metroid Prime 3 that supposedly plays like a mouse-and-keyboard FPS. You also haven't lived until you've attacked enemies on horseback in Zelda, aiming AND steering the horse effortlessly at the same time.

Not really. You're comparing to things like multiplayer. If you take into account all the sidequests in Zelda, including the fishing (which could sell as its own game), you could log up to hundreds if not thousands of hours in Twilight Princess. Since the Wii Messageboard records your game activity, it should be easy to see how many hours total you've spent in the game!

The reason you won't see that with Sunday's launch of the Wii is because you'll be able to just walk up to a shelf and pick up a Wii! I hereby proclaim that you will see Wiis flying off the shelves on Sunday and beating the PS3 to a bloody pulp by December in sales.

I would caution those who champion the Wii to take a closer look at what they're doing. They're saying it's great before they've even seen a unit in person

I think Nintendo is very focused on making themselves the #1 position. The Wii is being geared toward mainstream society, like the original NES was (I remember my dad playing Super Mario Bros....he wouldn't even be able to handle Super Mario Sunshine today). The XBox 360 and PS3 so geared toward non-mainstream, hardcore gamers willing to spend $400 that they're going to end up the niche machines.

Wii comes with a game, free wifi, free online play (Microsoft has no plans to make XBox Live free), backwards compatibility with a ton of classic systems, and a vastly superior controller. And it's cheap! I think it's well-positioned to hit #1 status. The XBox 360 is rather "meh" and the PS3 will be very slow to take off at such a high price.
