    My thoughts as well.

However, you can't expect a multi billion dollar company to change its spots overnight. I think they are testing the waters with this move. Unfortunately, if the majority of movie fans come to the same conclusion you've elucidated, no one will use the service... leading the WB execs to believe there is no money to be made in legit P2P/ BT distribution.

Huge companies have a huge amount to lose. This is why I see the inevitable move to this distribution method first becoming useful from the hands of a smaller, less risk adverse company.

What kind of terrible attitude is this? I read this as "we realized we really screwed up, and that the product isn't even really very good... we are all sick of it and just want to put it behind us".

I'd feel a little more loyalty to the product after investing 10 years of my life into it, and if I didn't... I'd know it was time to admit defeat, chalk it up to (extremely painful) lessons learned, and move on to something else.

You know what Bill has left when he gives 99% of his money away? Enough money to buy anything in the world, still. I'm happy he is donating but let's be serious, there is nothing else to do when you have that much money other than bank it for your kids (which I believe he is opposed to for other reasons).

He basically bought that People Of The Year award for lack of anything better to do.
