With up to 32 simultaneous threads in one incredibly low-power, low-heat processor, you gain the high-volume throughput you need, while saving millions on power and cooling costs.
Wow, you'd have to be an idiot to not want to save millions! Nevermind that the technology (Cool Threads) sounds like the name of a Hot Topic spin off... Sign me up!
This article obviously wasn't meant for much more than a quick conversation piece. There is litte, if any, scientific data presented.
In general, coffee is quite a bit more caffinated than tea. Brewed coffee is around 135mg, instant around 95mg, whereas the most common teas (lipton green, instant black, etc) have about 35-40mgs. So statements like "one or two cups of coffee OR TEA" puts the targetted intake anywhere between 70mg and 270mgs per day. How useful.
So let's say a game comes out with all the great parts of half-life, and all the open-ended gameplay of Morrowind (or better).
I guess my point is we are getting to the end of the 3d-on-2d era, and no one seems to have the balls to do anything really innovative. Innovative immersion right now is translated to mean better physics, improved AI (har) and more photorealistic graphics. This fails to address the fundamental problem-- that we are still sitting in a chair staring at a flat surface, barely moving even our wrists.
There is truth in your wit. Technology always hits home with me when I overhear someone talking about it outside of work. The other day I heard a couple of people talking about DVD's, and one said "well you know they are starting to put out the new form of DVDs now, but there are a couple different kinds. One is called Blue Ray... I can't remember the name of the other." Mindshare is a powerful thing!
You get enough people saying it, it becomes the standard regardless of the technical details (see vhs/betamax etc).
I think Half Life 2 pretty much explored every option of making a game immersive, other than just making it "pretty". Q4 just looks like more of the same shoot reload repeat crap that I got over after I beat Q1.
We need holographic displays or entirely new input interfaces, not more polygons.
HL2 was the climax of "3d on a flat screen", I don't think it is going to get any better until it becomes cost effective enough to do some form of VR. Until then we get more marines in space, with slightly higher framerates and anti-alias passes.
had a friend who tried to run on a motercycle 3 times- they had patrol cars and helicopters and they caught him every time. 3rd time he lost the motorcycle and got to walk. Spent some time in jail too..
they get raped in jail.
I'm sorry to hear about your friend, are you sure he wasn't trying to escape on a unicycle?
Bottom line is: "George Bush doesn't care about black people"

Call me when he enters the NEOblogosphere
what happens if the recipient has invested in "pencil" and "scrap of paper" technology?

I used to store my MP.03's on punch cards
Good thing these cop killers knew the serious moral ramifications of removing or replacing your license plate.
Does that mean we're not shaken to our roots anymore?
Good, I found it rather uncomfortable
i think if you consider the shape and size of the Revolution controller, you'll agree that it is in fact VERY well suited for "adult game playing"
Who will spy on the spies spying on the spyware?
apparently you aren't smart enough to avoid french fries ;)
How about the already deployed technology?
WiMAX doesn't even have a defined standard. The IEEE 802.16e specification is not a standard and probably won't be for a while.
How about that? Run it and your social life will immediately improve. It is the first step toward a better life. Won't you take it today?
Good point.

In summary, where is my god damn holodeck.

my mom used to always tell me:
"less gaming, more freestyle rapping"
The "Earth" has already added nearly 100,000,000 "people" in 2005.
Dear "Media Sentry"
