They tried this awhile ago. You can't have carbonated beverages in a near-weightless environment because belching would result in vomiting up your food. As a result, the Coke had to be flat. Basically, it tasted really nasty and they've not tried it since that I know of.

Am I the only one that remembers the episode of "Beyond 2000" where there was a guy showing a CRT touch screen that could support three points of contact? This would have been somewhere in the range of 14-15 years ago. To say that putting this in a cellular phone is revolutionary like saying the same thing about VOIP. Sorry, it's evolutionary at best.

Yes, and the kind currently operated on the ground are facing a dead-end business model.

Seriously? You mean that DSL and cable are on their way out? Land operators have numerous sources of revenue aside from voice. And if I remember correctly the FCC just said that on average we're paying several times the amount of other industrialized nations for internet access.

Yes. This benefits them. But more importantly it benefits consumers and would create an open system more akin to what is standard in the rest of the world.

Probably not mini-USB, since every Samsung slider phone uses an ultra-thin proprietary connector. The internets seem to disagree as to whether the phone can charge by USB. But take the above advice and try a different computer or ensure your port has the power to charge the phone.

While my Samsung t809 has no problem charging with the USB cable. Though the one connector would be problem if I wanted to use a wired headset and charge the phone at the same time. But that's why I have bluetooth.

  6. Re:Interior Designers for Built Spaces. on Avoiding the Cube Farm - Effective Office Floor Plans? · · Score: 1

As an architect in training, I can add that architects probably have more experience with "space planning" than an interior designer will. Most firms that I have experience with just use interior designers to take their plans and color/material suggestions and make them coordinate with each other (read: decorate). This isn't to say it's not important, it's essential to a building/space. But "interior designer" is just a newer word for interior decorator. Basically, an architect tells them to put a couch in the lobby, and the interior designer will suggest a brand and color.

Look at Nintendo's dominance of the handheld market in Japan (and the world). Look at Nintendo's appraoch to maketing games to literally every demographic from toddlers to the elderly. Look at all the interest being generated about the Wii (E3). Look at the price differences between the new consoles and Nintendo's. They're taking a very different approach to a next generation system, we can't reliably use past performance to guage what will happen. Especially that far in the future.

I can't find the article that used to be on IBM's website, but NASA use(s/d) 1GB micridrives with their Kodak 6 MP cameras on the shuttle. I believe because of the large data capacity and reliability of the drives. I also own both 340MB and 1GB microdrives and have never had any difficulties with my Canon Powershot G2, or my Toshiba e740. They're extremely reliable and the 1GB drive writes faster than basically every solid state CF card out there .
