To the average user, they'll be upset there were sold, in their minds, a $1000+ paperweight.
Why would they think that? They have to assemble things that they buy when they get them home all the time. Why suddenly would they expect a computer to magically work exactly they way they think it should without any work on their part?
Windows TCP/IP stack has been rewritten twice since NT 3.5 which was where they first used the BSD TCP/IP stack. There might be some BSD influenced stuff still in it, but the majority of actual BSD code is gone.
A network stack is not the be all and end all of compatibility, and in general Windows fits in just fine in a mixed environment.
Since I know Dell doesn't offer 4h on site support for their desktops, (Dell can hardly send the right part out the first time when given a week), and I doubt HP or Sun do either, the point is valid.
4h on-site is pretty much always limited to the top tier of support and only offered for some products, the most broad being every 'Enterprise Server' level product.
Exactly how am I a hypocrite, because you believe I must have games with ads in them?
Yes I believe ad's break a game, I believe they ruin a show or movie as well. If I wanted to see ads I would watch TV. I wouldn't read a book that started off "Brought to you by Subway" either.
You asked why I wouldn't buy a game that had ad's in it. I don't want to see them, that's why.
Look what happened there. People that might be interested in Linux or OS X will try Linux or OS X. People who aren't, won't. In the end, very little will change.
Homework is now assigned in place of a curriculum. Teachers only grade what is submitted and any questions students have are answered by 'read the textbook.' A teachers grading is then done during class where, shockingly, a teacher was supposed to be teaching.
Maybe teachers will start doing their jobs now. Too many ended up just not wanting to deal with kids at all, they just told their students to sit down and shut up for an hour and then assigned homework that should have been covered in class.
If the company has decided that they are going to lock the use of unsanctioned peripherals, then the question becomes not, 'why doesn't my USB drive work,' but 'why are you bringing a USB drive in?'
You're wrong on 2 counts. First, even if you wanted to define North America along political lines, there are more then 2 countries included in North America. Hint: NAFTA includes 3 countries.
Second, South America starts south of Panama. In the area called the western hemisphere, there are 3 (major) tectonic plates, South American, North American and Caribbean and 4 descriptive areas, North America, South America, Central America and the Caribbean. Cuba is on the North American plate and in the Caribbean ocean. It would ether be described as North American or Caribbean, usually the latter. South American however is just plain wrong.
Heaven forbid people make money on building products around a free piece of software while working within the guidelines of use and distribution of that software.
You say that, then proceed to list everything from Apple that is designed to have a Mac at the center of it all controlling it. iPod? iTunes on a Mac (or Windows machine). iPhone? Gets information and syncs with your Mac. AppleTV? Receives broadcast from a Mac.

If it does, I will not buy it.
Yes we do need another Star Wars game. There is a console called the Wii and I can't swing a Light Saber on it yet.
Dell offers FreeDOS on at least some machines, they have offered Linux in the past. No one jumped on any bandwagon behind either OS.

A place beyond Best Buys 'geek squad' type position requiring the A+ means one thing, you don't want to work there. A trained monkey can pass the A+.
Well duh, it's the easiest to pirate.
Well, except for a fire and an explosion related to a design flaw that was in every command module from Apollo 1-13, I guess it was ok.
Running Vista in 512 MB ram under Fusion on my MacBook, I doubt that. Up my MacBook to 2gb ram and give Vista 1gb it works significantly better.

Only Aussies will have incandescent bulbs.
Dude, this is like the next step to a self powering device. It would run forever.

Vista has been out in general availability for 2 weeks and you already lost the manual?
Hey this is genetics, I know this!
That Mac looks pretty important to me.
Churchill never said that.
