come out with their own branded OS will they really get a leg up on Apple Indeed, creating a product that 90% of the market will refuse to use will put it in the same league as Apple.
A theme and a moral are very different things. A theme is simply what the story is about, the underlying reason for why things are occurring in the story. A moral is a teaching, either by directly saying this or attempting to influence a persons character by acting they way this moral is supposed to make you act. Everything has a theme, otherwise it is just a disjointed series of words, not everything has a moral. Futurama has no moral, so according to you, i should not find it entertaining because it has no meaning. Guess again.
Lord of the Rings was compiled from stories Tolkein told his children, and he had said that it was not written to convey any morals or any meaning, it was supposed to be simply an entertaining story. So I know he didn't mean all that stuff, english 'professors' manufacture meaning to appear intelligent and get paid. If you see meaning and morality in LOTR or the Matrix or some other film, you might want to look and see whats missing in your life and stop trying to fill it with movies.
Single User Mode exists in any Unix/Unix like OS. I was talking about when the OS would refuse to start at all, no single user, no login, nothing. The the magic button I was thinking of is the 't' key, which enters target disk mode, you would also need a firewire cable and another Mac.
Escapist and entertaining, not moral. The point of entertainment is to be entertaining, not a morality teacher, thats for parents to do. I can't be that different then everyone else.
Never had a problem with drivers for Solaris/x86. Here's a hint, and you have to use this with *BSD and Linux too, check that your device is supported BEFORE you buy it.
Did Linus say what cereal he eats in the morning, because I'm begining to have an independant thought so I need someone to tell me what to do. What do I care about what Linus things about Solaris, of what benifit is it?
I hate movies with a moral, I watch to be entertained, not talked down to with a tone that the director needs to educate me. If you want children to grow up with some morals, talk to their parents, not Hollywood.
I have xrootconsole displaying the contents of the syslog, but it doesn't handle a log swtich over well. If you use KDE there is superkaramba, for Gnome I assume gDesklets can do the same thing.
I would also like to know what that thing in the top right was aswell though.
only ever get the base OS You should get the complete CD disk 1 that you would from anywhere, CD 2 is a live CD so thats not as important.
out of date
Its called ports, and CVSup
Yes I'm making it hard for myself , but with good reason Not unless your on the run from the law, in which case I don't think too many people would be quick to help you at all.
Im running my firewall on a 50mhz SuperSPARC. It ran OpenBSD and 2 snort instances. So there. I also run a MacSE (15mhz 68k) as a console to several machines, all less then 300mhz, and Windows 2000 on a P233.
To get back to what started this, I run the latest KDE on a dual P2 350 with 768MB Ram and with 2 VMWare sessions and a bunch of other things running, KDE runs just fine.
I have never seen what the hell these things mean, for instance why is/etc where config files are, since config files are anything but simply more of the same thing. I'll still pronounce/usr as user.
You might want to look into a little thing called ODBC. OO.org Base 2.0 can talk to a variety of database backends, as can Access. Not everyone needs a 'real database,' forcing the installation of MySQL or PostgreSQL would just be stupid.
You don't look like a computer enthusiast without more cables then you have devices.
Cables are the price you pay for a generic lump of computer that is the PC. My Suns have hardly any, my little Mac has very little, but one PC has more then all of them put together. Cable Management is the end users problem, but all it takes is a little bit of planning and a rip to the hardware store where there are several things that can be used to secure, protect and hide these cables.
Any PC mod I've done isn't much of a mod at all, mainly just repainting so I don't have ugly ass beige boxes, some machines I cut some holes for fans if I was worried about their current cooling but a machine thats been painted to fit in with the decor is much nicer. I did paint the BSD demon on the side of one of my FreeBSD boxes though.
the amount of "old school" racism has fallen pretty dramatically to the point where people who make judgements based on skin color have pretty much been relegated to the trailer parks and the ghettos Thats bullshit. If you think that racism has been relegated to white trash neighborhoods, your either blind, or the biggest idiot on the planet. Take a look around slashdot, when was the last time you heard anything other then rasist comments about orientals and Indians simply because they come from those parts of the world. How many muslims and people who look like people from the Middle East have to worry about whether or not today is going to be the day there is a mob of their neighbours. How often do you and your friends cross the road because there are some black kids walking your way on this side of the street. Racism and judgments based on skin colour and religion are very much alive and well all around the world.
As for your second paragraph, I don't know if your advocating returning to segregation or forcably absorbing and re-educating everyone to be the same. Either one will not solve anything. There is nothing wrong with diversity, what causes the problem is the learned belief that you are better then everyone who is not like you. There will always be people not like you, even if you were in a group of people of the same culture and skin colour. Some of them will be better at something then others, some will be artistic and others won't. So do we separate them from each other or perhaps re-educate them that they are not better at somethings then others? The answer has always been that you should shut up and simply accept people for what they are, the human race is diverse, its the whole reason we can have many types of art, and have advances in technology and have wonderful works of literature.
Diversity was not the problem in Yugoslavia, its not the problem in Ireland and it wasn't the problem in Iraq. Yugoslavia was composed of several groups that hated each other because of race and religion. Ireland has a problem because some of them chose a different religion then some others and each group hates each other because of it. Iraq has internal problems because people believe something a little different about the same religion, and both think they are superior because of that. If we go with what you appear to be advocating, we either separate them, or forceably change them to something neutral. That doesn't solve anything because it just won't work, its been tried. However, if they would simply shut up about it, and let each other be, all of a sudden we can all live together AND do things differently. That also isn't going to happen, but its a far better way then either segregation or forcable re-education.
If only you and your friend used the key, bring you both in and grill you till one of you cracks. Or trace that you published it, either way in most cases it will be very simple and I would call anyone relying on this retarded.

Unless you can prove that evolution occures, it should not be taught in biology. If you want to measure everything that is taught by reproducibility and proof, then evolution has no place being taught, infact less then creationism does. A scientist can not cause an amoeba to become a multicell organism, but he can take the parts of an amoeba and produce another one, there you have reprodusibility for intellegent design. The fossil record has organizims suddenly showing up fully formed, there is no proof of halfway or partial fetures. That favors an intellegent design rather then random chaos.
You do not need to prove God exists, infact, you would have to prove he doesn't. Einstin has been quoted as saying, "No amount of experimentation can ever prove me right; a single experiment can prove me wrong." Using God as a hypothesis is not a copout, the evedence points closer to that then anything else. Simply because you do not want to accept the possibility that there is a being that is much higher then you does not mean that it could not be what is infact right. Until the existance of God is disproved, God is a possible answer to how the universe and everything in it sprung into existance.
And if no one uses the key? This isn't that deniable, your hoping that someone out of the kindness of their heart is going to use this now very public key for their messages. Its just not going to happen.
Hell, I'm thinking of putting up a bounty on Qmail/djbdns security holes just because I'd love to see him taken down a notch, and because I'm not a programmer so couldn't do it myself but I'd love to have a part in it.
Anything that runs on a P3 should run on the XBOX with little modification, remember the XBOX is a PC in a different case. Obviously this is a high level appraisal, since the article itself pointed out some driver incompatibilities, but you could run in to driver problems putting NT on the latest P4 as well. This more affirms two things people already knew, the people at ReactOS are still working, the XBOX is a PC.
Was that review English?
So just another day at the office then.
"Open Source" is a buzz word, get used to it.

I like Mac's.

Apples do have a magic button to access the HDD if the OS can not boot.

you have to get rooted
Not if you know what your doing you don't. You should have kept up with your patches.
To be perfectly honest, a Final Fantasy movie was a logical step, they just screwed it up.

While it may not be your thing, FFXII is due around March last I heard. That should be a pretty large launch.
