I just moved here, and I haven't purchased FasTrak [yet]. I was wondering, what happens if I just jump into a FasTrak lane without a transponder? Does my car explode? Black helicopters appear? I never see any cameras at the entrances to the lanes.
Shrug. Just moved out here from Columbus, Ohio. Didn't know of any cable alternatives. I have absolutely no complaints about the service thus far. They screwed it up when they connected my cable TV service, but I've had 0 downtime since. Great speeds. I had Time Warner (RoadRunner) in Ohio, and thats not available here, so.. what do you recommend? I'm not in a contract.
I live in Orange County, Calif. and have Cox' cable service. They have blocked outbound 25, and I contacted their sysadmins and kindly requested that it be opened for me, and explained that I needed it so that I could use my office's SMTP servers. They told me it could not be done. Physically. I explained to them that it could, and even offered to provide the IOS commands. =) Needless to say, even though I remained diplomatic throughout the experience, I couldn't get it open.
Now I run tcpsg, to forward port 24 to 25. It can be found in the FreeBSD ports collection.
register_globals is disabled by default in >4.2.0. It was disabled in the "recommended" php.ini's in versions before that. Anyone configuring a PHP distribution should read over php.ini thoroughly. As long as the setting has been there, there have been comments around it regarding its dangers. There are global arrays now, to access the form data: $_GET[] and $_POST[]. Here is some background.
For what its worth, you can install the dish indoors aimed through a window if you have a clear view of the skies over Mexico (Southeast for us in CA, Southwest for people out East). Check it out. DirecTV has a free install right now 3-room deal going right now. $14.00 to get it setup. No, I don't work for DTV, I just took advantage of that deal recently. =)
of people generalizing americans. Just because the editors at eWeek are incompetent, doesn't mean I don't read. This is like saying that your poor grammar ("american's"?), is a good indication that Brits don't brush their teeth.
Since a lot of commercial sites use Akamai for even non-advertisement image hosting, and those are technically offsite, does this mean NAV2k4 blocks them? This is going to break a lot of mainstream sites.
We have designers that do all the GUI work, and while I code the back-end systems, we still have needs for some of our clients to create content for their own sites. We have real estate industry clients that need to be able to create listings in a WYSIWYG-style interface, and its simply not practical to code a java applet or DHTML widget for them to do this. We install DreamWeaver for them, works great.
There are offices with *several* employees dedicated to similar tasks. They need only a web browser, an Outlook clone, and a DreamWeaver clone to function. We're 2 for 3 now with Ximian Evolution. This will be very popular when its ready.
I remember seeing all kinds of stuff about this "up and coming" hovercraft technology. Then it just disappeared from the mainstream. Is there a reason this hasn't progressed further? Seems like a good solution for desert navigation.
Of course, eating it would only provide a temporary tracking solution.

welcome our new voip-taxing overlords.
They stole those images. I've seen every single one of them on uglypeople.com.
I think that they're alleging the ISP did in fact "transport illegal materials". These just happened to be TCP/IP.
I just got an offer to buy AOL for $23.95/month in the mail. Is this some sort of financing deal?
Well, I may not know where Germany is, but I know where all of the keys on my keyboard are. Lets trade maps.

Burn karma, burn.
Maybe it should be called The Grid. Spreadsheet Reloaded? The Frame Revolutions? Okay I'm out.
In an October 1998 article, EE Times named him one of "40 forces that will shape the semiconductor industry of tomorrow."
Hmm. I wonder what day in October 1998 that was supposed to be? I don't remember any big change.
How about you pick up a $60 cpu/mobo combo and play nice with the rest of the world?
I thought of posting this AC, but f*** it.

Maybe they'll mass suicide, too.
take any pictures of McAfee on your loading docks.
wasn't $100 *OF* pot? Now, *THAT* might be more in-line with your buying habits.

CMD does not support UNC paths as current directories. =(
I scratched my nose.
Seriously though, are we posting for every RC for every OS now?
can you do it with one click?
