Wrong, under Romney the company will pass along every single frame to the DEA so that after conviction, the citizen will reside in a housing unit (prison) run by it's subsidary company, generating even more profit.
Ageed. I moved away from Ubuntu to Mint Linux because while Unity might be a fine interface for a tablet, it's a crappy interface for a desktop, requiring huge amounts of moust travel to do the same thing that you could do with minimal movement/time in the regular menu system.
I'm staying with Windows 7 for the same reason. I don't want a shitty tablet interface on my 30" desktop screen.
The Radiology Dept, which runs their own servers because the hospital IT rips you off so bad, sold us the same amount of space, along with the extra feature (and expense to them) of licensing for their PACS software... for 1/5 the price.
Let me guess, you think Obama breaks into talking about how America won't back down from acts of terror when he's talking to a group about how we need better fuel economy in cars as well.
If you can grasp the concept of context, duh, yes, he was calling it an act of terrorism.
Here's another hint for you. If they actually had killed the embassy staff because of outrage over an 'American' produced movie against muslimism, that would still be terrorism. It would just be a different motive for the terrorism than the war in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Who is talking about major impacts big enough to be viewable from earth? The original poster was concerned about impacts wrecking a comuter sitting on it's surface. An impact large enough to be seen from earth would be a One followed by lots and lots of Zero's times bigger than needed.
" The moon is a very small object in a really large space..."
So is earth. We still get 30 Tons hitting a day. The moon doesn't get that much, but it certainly gets enough not to consider an impact rare.
"damaging meteorites is rare to see in the atmosphere (the fire balls) and even rarer to hit ground"
The moon doesn't exactly have an atmosphere, does it? So they ALL make it to the ground there.
"On average, 33 metric tons (73,000 lbs) of meteoroids hit Earth every day, the vast majority of which harmlessly ablates ("burns up") high in the atmosphere, never making it to the ground. The moon, however, has no atmosphere, so meteoroids have nothing to stop them from striking the surface. The slowest of these rocks travels at 20 km/sec (45,000 mph); the fastest travels at over 72 km/sec (160,000 mph). At such speeds even a small meteoroid has incredible energy -- one with a mass of only 5 kg (10 lbs) can excavate a crater over 9 meters (30 ft) across, hurling 75 metric tons (165,000 lbs) of lunar soil and rock on ballistic trajectories above the lunar surface. "
So, make it easy for developers at the expense of users? Sorry, I don't have a windows phone, don't like tiles, and don't want to run a shitty tablet/phone interface on my desktop machine.
I write desktop apps for work, and use Visual Studio 2010 instead of 2012, because I don't care about the phone crap. At work, and pretty much everyone I know will be using Window 7 at least until 9 comes out.
When folks are already used to developing for something that only has a 1% share, are they really going to care that much that the share goes down to 0.5%?
I use a lot of open source and love it, but the grandparent is right. Commercial developers have the real incentive to give the users what they want. Cash.
It's a seriously stupid Ask Slashdot. Unless you state where you will be living, how often you will travel and where, how you use your service, and what your priorities are, no one can answer. Different carriers would be better for two different families living in the same city depending on a whole bunch of factors.
Apparently the voters and their elected officials in several states disagree with your viewpoint, and are free to set things up how they like.
Firstly, some public sector unions workers are already prevented from striking (police). They still have the 'blue flu', which could happen unionized or not.
And s I already pointed out in another thread, your second reason for them being outlawed is seriously flawed. Elected officials in several states just took away a lot of power from Teachers/Police/Fire unions. Teachers aren't the only voters, by a long, long shot. Want things to go the other way? Convince other voters to vote your way. But you better use better arguements than you have so far.
Any modern car you will buy will get better milage than a '57 Chevy. I'd still love to own and drive a '57 Chevy.
That should have read DA, not DEA (unless appropriate)

$50k IS excessive, it doesn't just seem that way.

Your prediction was wrong, they talked about the trade deficit.
You gaffing as bad as Romney when he did missed the fact that Oboma did call it an act of terror the next day?
The FSM literature only varies with the blasphemers who belive god is al dente.
Then my users would be fired for using a medical image analysis program on a monitor that isn't calibrated correctly.

Seriously? 33 TONS of stuff hit earths atmosphere every day, but you think something impacting the moom is rare?
Just how small do you think the moon is?

If you had a large business database you'd be using SQL Server, not access.

The HUGE unnecessary amount of mouse travel needed for exactly zero reason other than 'it looks good on tablets'.
Why? Mint Linux is available right now. No $1M needed.
Amen. I'll give to Mint instead. At least they listen to feedback from users.
I hope the questions you ask at job interviews are better thought out. Location was just one of many important factors that you left out.

But Sprint has unlimited data.

I've tried it. It sucks. I and pretty much everyone I know will be sticking with Windows7 for a long time.
You can't blame the kid bro or judge him too harshly.
Yes I can. Everyone is responsible for their own actions. Not everyone in adverse situations turn into raging assholes. It's not an excuse.
I made a working engine that ran off of tap water. Then the oil companies had me killed.
