    The 50's also coincided with a time when most of Europe, Japan, China, etc, were rebuilding everything that had been destroyed in the 40's during WWII. America was the world's factory during that time. Kinda makes it easy to have a boom.

    There are arguements for unions. 'Things were good in the U.S. in the 50's' is not one of them.

    But the fact that most of the species are killed with only 10 days exposure to space radiation makes it very, very, very unlikely.

    10 days is a uselessly small exposure time when thinking of the amount of time needed to travel the vast distances between stars.

    The Palm Pre (HP Pre after HP bought Palm) phones had the same wireless charging, and with magnetic charging stands. It was easy to have a stand on your desk at work, at home, and one on the car's dash, so that wherever you were, you could just set the phone down, have it stuck in place and charging until you were ready to move again.

    Apparently you don't have a TV, because pretty much all the Republican ads are simply negative ads. Worse, ones that are blatent lies about how he is getting rid of the work requirement for welfare. That should be expected after the nomiation speeches where Ryan did nothing bust blast Obama for making the exact same calls/proposals that Ryan had.

    I can get that people voted for him the first time, but I'm amazed that there are still some Obama voters left who aren't so thoroughly embarrassed by his job as President that they'd not only vote for him again, but would admit so in public. Pathetic.

    Yes, yes. There couldn't possible be any social factors different in the US than the UK that could contribute to the change.

    And god knows that one having universal medical care, and the other not having it, and having much higher medical costs couldn't possibly impact people seeking advice, or treatment. Nah. No other possible factors in the equation at all.

    What happens when a badly made, badly functioning unregulated application causes thousands of people to die because of misdiagnosis/mistreatment?

    Have you considered that this is the same FDA that causes the death of thousands of people every year because they haven't approved drugs used safely for years elsewhere?

    Have you considered that this is the same FDA that prevented the use of drugs that were later found to be harmful after being 'used safely for years elsewhere'?... Need a helpful example? How about, ohhh, THALIDOMIDE

    And that point is insignificant with universal coverage because the option to get luxury health care wouldn't exist either.

    The far right keeps saying this, but it's simply not true. In England, everyone is covered by universal coverage. But many people buy supplemental health insurance because they want more of a premium plan with extra coverage/benefits. You can still have all the luxury health care you want. You are just going to have to pay extra for the luxury bits. Which all sounds quite reasonable. Stop spreading FUD.

    You know, just because lots of things have happened IN THE LAST 34 YEARS doesn't meane they are all due to deregulation.

    You'll find that lots of other big companies have bought up or weeded out most of their competitors in other fields too. Back in the 90's I used to buy Computer Shopper magazine, where there were thousands and thousands of companies building PCs for you to buy. Today almost all those companies are gone. I guess that must be due to some deregulation. That or maybe, just maybe business fields tend to change over time even without deregulation being the cause.

    Wait for reviews? That's what I do. Anything with less than a steller rating that I don't know I want 'right now', I wait for a year or so for when it's on a big sale on Steam, and I get get it for a price that I think it's actually worth.
