    Because you cannot in good science and conscience declare that the will of the people was for Gore or Bush to be President in 2000. The equipment does not support that conclusion. There were many other states that were almost as close as Florida.

    Sure you can - (Gore or Bush) got about 95% of the popular vote in the last election :)

    I'd say that they would be the candidates - those people who don't vote have given their approval to whoever is elected.

    I also don't think that Perot would have gotten more votes by staying in the race the entire time - he may have gotten less by being exposed as a somewhat instable individual.

    There are 3 people in a room - 2 men and 1 woman. The 2 men vote to rape the woman, the 1 woman votes against it. The vote passes and the rights of the minority are trampled.

    We use Symantec Antivirus (corporate edition). Very nice. The central server gets signature updates and pushes it to the clients (either right away or on the next boot, whichever is first)

    I don't have nearly that many clients, but I do have the system set up to e-mail me each time signatures are updated. This includes the machine name and I kind of keep track of which ones are up to date.

    As a business user who frequently uses P2P networks to transfer large files between my office and home machines, I can assure you that there are legitimate uses, and that in many cases these are more convenient than the alternatives.

    I think that the dangers outweigh the advantages of using P2P for that. Some guy has been advertising this site http://www.foundonp2p.com/[foundonp2p.com] that shows private data that can be found on p2p networks.

    For moving stuff back and forth from home, I'd think that you'd be better off having IT set up a secure FTP site than P2P.

    In the case of the Red October, I'm sure that the amount of power required really didn't matter as they had a nuclear reactor on board.

    Didn't realize that there was actually a working model of the drive, though.

    If my friend is busy skimming the books at the bank that I was planning on robbing, then yes.

    Agree or disagree with Iraq, the Germans and the French had an economic stake in keeping Saddam in power.

    They can also prevent something the other party wants to do - like the annual budget or something. When they do that - they can slip in their own stuff.

    To be honest, the Federal government is at its best when it (can do) does the least.

    Then it's an easy thing to do? It's my understanding that neither is easy. Weather is influenced by many factors (El Nino, currents, the jet stream, a butterfly farting in Seattle) as is orbital mechanincs (mainly the interplay between many different orbital bodies).
