We'd like them to not cuss around us, but it is not "banned." We have asked that they not cuss around other adults, but it is not "banned." It is their own choice.
Our kids understand that the use of those words simply is a sign to people of how dumb and inarticulate you are. I don't have a problem with using those words, but I choose not to (except when one-on-one with my wife... go figure). I am 100% sure that my kids have never heard me use profanity, but I am 100% sure that they hear it every day in other places. I have no problem with others using profanity at all. Sometimes it is funny, mostly it says an awful lot about the person using it. It is just words.
Anyway, we have never heard any cussing from our kids and have never heard any comments from other parents/teachers.
The best way to protest this is to get a couple thousand people to show up there and laugh for 5 minutes on queue. I recall a similar protest was done in India some years ago and it is brilliant.

For god's sake - price controls on every day needs (bread, milk). Went to China. But, the stigma of the "sex offender" label is that of the latter.

1) We need to distinguish between long term climate change and short term climate change. 2) We need to distinguish between human-causes and natural causes. 3) Skeptics must be heard and not shouted down and ridiculed.
It is almost as though "global warming" has been voted into existence. I feel we need more info on theories on how solar output might change over time (chaotic in some ways, but maybe predicatble in other ways). We need more info on why the mini ice age happened. We need more info on where we are in terms of coming out of the "big" ice age. We need to be careful to distinguish direct temperature measurements of the last 125 years versus indirect measurements.
Finally, we need every news story about climate, weather, geography, evolution, extinction, and health to have some shifty-eyed reference to "global warming". Predictions about "this will be the warmest..." have happened since 2002. Most wrong. Remember the hurricane predictions for 2006? Nope, even those prediction which were "linked to global warming" were dismissed due the "effects of global warming." This stuff is in the news almost every day.
I feel that there is a real possibility that in 100 years, humanity may look back at this topic as something even more group-think than the typical "tulip bulb" group-think that happened on a much smaller scale years ago. The earth is getting warmer because we are leaving both a mini and a big ice age. I learned that in freakin' catholic school in the 1970's when Time magainze heralded the coming new ice age again and again.

For water to flow, it has to have gotten to the source of the flow first. So, there has to be a mechanism for transport back to the source of the flow. Like rain moves water on Earth back to higher ground. The article offers no speculation on this transport mechanism. I would, of course, suspect evaporation and then dew/frost. But, that would be picked up easily from our probes and even from Earth-based observation.
I'd have to say that it would probably take no more than 10-15 minutes of quick research to find out where the candidates stand on major issues that you would consider. Nobody considers ALL the issues. Everyone has a top 3-5 list. And, I would say that many liberals and some conservatives are one issue voters (sorry, just personal observation). It would only take a few minute to figure out the candidates that agree with you on your issues.
Take my case today. I had to vote for governor, one congressperson, and then a local referendum to increase some property tax. The other 10 races were uncontested. I just checked the Web sites, and learning about all issues I care about are basically one click away on each Web site promoting each candidate in those races. Simple. Writing this post to Slashdot took more time, as I'm sure would be the case in your election... So, now what's your excuse? Rain? Gas too expensive? Xbox?

For water to flow, it has to have gotten to the source of the flow first. So, there has to be a mechanism for transport back to the source of the flow. Like rain moves water on Earth back to higher ground. The article offers no speculation on this transport mechanism. I would, of course, suspect evaporation and then dew/frost. But, that would be picked up easily from our probes and even from Earth-based observation.
What am I missing here?

Really, now you are just being too obvious about it.
I'd have to say that it would probably take no more than 10-15 minutes of quick research to find out where the candidates stand on major issues that you would consider. Nobody considers ALL the issues. Everyone has a top 3-5 list. And, I would say that many liberals and some conservatives are one issue voters (sorry, just personal observation). It would only take a few minute to figure out the candidates that agree with you on your issues.
Take my case today. I had to vote for governor, one congressperson, and then a local referendum to increase some property tax. The other 10 races were uncontested. I just checked the Web sites, and learning about all issues I care about are basically one click away on each Web site promoting each candidate in those races. Simple. Writing this post to Slashdot took more time, as I'm sure would be the case in your election... So, now what's your excuse? Rain? Gas too expensive? Xbox?
