*If* he was an expert, *If* he had it packed in _Then_ it would've had same effect as TNT (and so blasted about a km big hole) So this is a GOOD model.
yada yada.
Seriously, the assumptions they have made are just too far-fetched. It sounds like someone thought of this idea - hey what would've happened if.. -- and then did some calculations, and then put it in a sensational manner to get press.
As Dick Feynman would say, this is something like Cargo Cult Science - no true scientific backing for this
ok I was searching for a story (it links to a website having some cool html code, came out in May / June so if you know please tell me)
and what happened to me was that I saw the list of stories.. starting from the latest and going down.. and that had two stories extra and above the last story (napster2.0) on the main page...
I clicked on this one and got thru.. the next one (about today's kids playing 70s games..) gave me "you've nothing to see here, move on"
so I guess that is a loophole or something where a non-subscriber can actually see the story before it comes on the main page..
Free time is what all of us visiting Slashdot have. And we like to play with our free time, or to find free time to play around with stuff to come up with something that excites us...
I think that gif is a nice hack. So lay off those "too much time on your hand" stuff..
however, I must ask myself - do hacks have to be necessarily of some utility? I mean, Zen would say "it will be out when it will be out".
now that website has all 3 year old articles, but it has up-to-date ads.
And it gets mentioned on slashdot, so I guess some 20,000 people have a look at it.
Question, who is getting the revenue from the ads?
http://amsn.sf.net is the homesite of this nifty msn client that looks and behaves similar to the msn client itself. It's on version 0.80 right now and has already upgraded to msn6.0 emoticons etc. I think they are working on the connection protocol too.
Oh yes, btw, though msn 5.0 users on my LAN get disconnected often, I hardly ever do. I guess this is due to protocol incompatibility for the older msn clients..

Eureka ????
"So yes, seeing oxygen in a planetary atmosphere is a strong indicator of life "
the reverse isn't necessarily true - if you don't see oxygen then it doesn't imply that life is absent. life forms can be based on other fuel-cycles.
HP and Compaq are partners now...
And Compaq offers a Mandrake 9.0 pre-installed desktop system in India through its franchisee stores.
I am not sure if they offer support.
