I'm thinking the cold of our northeast winters would not be good for the hard drive(I live in upstate NY). I suppose you could remove it from the dash every day but I'm sure I'd forget and end up with a frozen drive.
I'm still not convinced all these rf waves bouncing around aren't dangerous. I bought an airport card for my powerbook months ago but have yet to install it, I guess all those stories about living near radio towers got to me.
this cpu will probably be in the last generation of G4 Powerbooks before they move to G5. Personally I think I'd rather have a nice, cool running, fast, energy efficient, 3rd or 4th gen G4 than a 1st gen G5.
rather than lowering prices to match Real or anybody else's schemes, I hope Apple instead offers higher quality files for the same $1(either higher bit-rate AAC's or Apple Lossless). This would be more of a selling point for me.
because the clone makers only marketed to current Mac users. Look in any Macworld magazine from that era and the first ad you see is Power Computing. The cloners did not try to expand into new areas and create their own customers, they simply stole Apple's. That is why Apple pulled the plug. If Motorola or Umax had made inroads into corporate America or overseas markets then there would still be clones today.
I concur. Safari is much faster on my old Pismo 400mhz Powerbook than any other browser I've tried, and I've tried them all. Firefox is a decent browser, but just too slow for me.
Apple and AOL seem to be collaborating alot lately, I wonder if this will have any effect on who Pixar chooses to distribute their films after the Disney deal is done? Also, where does this leave MSN Messenger users, out of the loop? Not that it affects me(I have iChat), just wondering.
Sawtooth was the first 'real' G4 Powermac, the Yikes model came out first but it's motherboard was more like a modified Powermac G3(I think that's where the Yikes moniker originated). Sawtooth G4's can use all sorts of G4 CPU upgrades, the Yikes models can not.
Apple won't do an update just for this, they didn't when a similar program was released for Mac. They'll just send a cease & desist, and if that doesn't get this guys attention they'll take him to court. Standard operating procedure for Apple.
has anyone tried any modifier keys while clicking maximize? On the Mac, usually holding Option while maximizing gives you the more Windowsy maximize. Apple often includes undocumented modifiers in their apps, so clicking around holding shift or option or command usually exposes some hidden function.
also a Mac user for years, and a consultant for NYS which is all Windows, when I tell people at work that computing does not have to difficult they shrug and say 'typical Mac user'. Well, there's a reason I use Mac exclusively at home, it just works.
It hasn't had a chance to hit the mainstream yet

Is Bluetooth Dead?

Look how long it took USB to become what it is today, give Bluetooth a chance. Us geeks use it and like it, and within another year or so it will be on most PDA's, cell phones, and computers so the average consumer will be using it too.
it's been what, two days since the 15 inch Powerbook that everyone was begging for was released and we've already moved on to G5 Powerbooks? At least let the dust settle.
where's Bomberman for Xbox? I've been a fan since the original, it's probably the best 4 player console game ever. I suppose it's due to the Xbox's poor sales in Japan.
Orange Micro sold PCI card PC's for Macs for years, you can still check the specs on their discontinued product page. A cool idea but it never really caught on.
it seems to be slower than Safari on my machines. The non-inclusion of tabs is a little behind the times. Even if you don't use tabs you should at least have the choice. It does seem a bit better at rendering than the previous versions that I've tried.
word whomp is what I want to play, it is just way too slow to use. Most games are too slow, even the slots. The only two games I can really play are the crossword and word find. It may be my old Pismo is just too slow, but everything ran great under OS9.
I may be the only one wanting this, but there still seems to be no Mac OSX browser that is able to run Pogo games. Under 9 I could use IE, and it still works under Classic, but I prefer not to use Classic if I can help it. Oh well, just another gripe of mine.
I wear my seatbelt, don't smoke, drink moderately, and wear a condom. What does any of that have to do with banking? My bank is less than 2 miles away so it's not an inconvenience to go there, plus there's a hot 20-something teller there. Much nicer to deal with than a computer:)

with HP selling iPods now, wouldn't it be sweet to have one of these top-end iPaq's running some sort of stripped down OSX? PDA of my dreams...

good try, but we all know it's you Mr Glaser.
has anyone found this yet? I've searched but haven't had any luck. Hopefully the wait won't be as long as the last one.

I was wondering why anybody would pay for anything in Real format, thanks for the info.

I was unaware that Tennessee was even a state still. Damn NY public schools.

anybody want to loan me $3000?
