Or even better...when you are born or immigrate here they could just remove part of our brain so you are good sheep. Wouldnt both these ideas I suggested curb crime and terrorism even more than these silly cameras? Costs less in the long run as well...

It is called capitalism and commercialism and this is what people do to sell their product. Blind devotion to linux makes my stomach turn just as much as the garbage B.G. spews. No OS is perfect. Both linux and M$ have a long way to go. The only real way I see linux winning the war is making its interface extremely simple ( you know point and click ). Since alot of distros are starting to included installation wizards I run into more and more people who have tryed linux but ultimately they all come back to M$. Why? Point and click, point and click. Oh and games, games, games. I bet half the linux users who bitch about B.G. havent even tryed winXP. I use linux and windows on my machines simply because I can. Not a huge fan of either. All fanbois can die...on both sides. You are worse than a bunch of patriotic nazis.

Give it 4-6 months of good patching, economy balancing (player based), a complete revamping of pvp combat, and ughh...content other than endless wastelands once you run out of town.

I hope they turn it around.

  10. my 2 cents on Star Wars Galaxies - Release Date Announced · · Score: 1

At first, the game was really geared towards a casual gamer . Monday they patched and did a char wipe that fucked everything. No other patches are scheduled before release. Mondays patch introduced more bugs than they had pre-patch and killed all the fun in gameplay. Now there is no place for someone who wants to play 2 hours a day. It is all about the grind. The testers are seriously upset about this latest patch. EQ in space is all i can say. Look to play 6 months for 6 hours a day to become a master in any skill and thats just one skill tree (compared to a week before). Most people are posting and questioning the reasons behind the patch and concluding there isnt a high end game hence they are turning it to a grind to keep subscribers longer. There is also a reason the NDA has not been lifted (typically game companies lift it a month before release) .....they dont want us beta testers spreading the bad word. You shouldve seen the beta boards post patch...14 pages(about 2000 actual posts) in 1 hour. All the beta people are cancelling thier pre-orders (me too). Everyone is flaming the boards. No one is playing the game and the servers are empty. This game is no where near ready to be released and EVERYONE (in beta) knows this. Vehicles, Jedi, and some planets are a few things that wont even be in the release. they plan to patch them in the weeks to months to follow. what sickens me most is the fact they are actually gonna charge people come the 26th to beta this game. Look for some serious hacks right away :P i know quite a few that involve blocking ports that are still quite usable in game. You can even steal from the bazaar terminals if you induce enough client side lag and know the right tricks. mabey we will see another incident like the Shadowbane hack. i beta tested that as well and refused to buy the unfinished product they released. i think this one is gonna bite lucas and SOE in the ass and i am very seriously disappointed this game could have ruled.

Funniest part is banning players for life...how they plan on enforcing it? (1) ask freind for credit card (2) pay friend money you took off his card (3) open new account. (4) grief every single player you can find for getting "banned" and stink up the game as much as possible. At least that is what I would do if I actually gave a shit. I wonder how many that were "banned" are actually playing right now....my guess is all of them.

Just one possiblity i thought of but most likely someone edited the files in their SB directory to get ahold of GM status. I really dont think it was an actual server hack. If it was and they get caught they are looking at some serious trouble if not jail time. On the other hand what if it was just a straight up exploit? Can we expect people go to jail because some dumbass didnt realize putting in code to enable GM status by holding down ctrl + alt + F5 was a seriously bad idea? If it was a client side exploit and UBI does sue i would love to see some law suits against them as well for such an obvious coding mistake.
