That's solved with enterprise grade SSDs or sealed HDDs. Actually, I got to thinking about it more. In theory you could do a complete immersion data center. It would just require a large vat in which all equipment is submerged. Service technicians would just have to be diving certified. Sounds kinda spooky if you ask me.
As been discussed before, the problem with immersion is the serviceability of the hardware by human hands. Even mineral oil can pose a safety issue in which a technician slips and breaks his/her neck on the floor. Not to mention it's just messy all around. Over time, liquids of any form work their way (via surface tension) in all sorts of places you don't want them being.
Sure, if you already have an existing partition it's best to move the page file to it. But if resizing your existing partition to make room for a new one is a PITA, just purchase a new drive and page out to that volume instead. It will be an improvement in overall disk I/O. Also, it can double as a local D2D backup drive too. Though it does require time, money, and physical access to inside the box, a secondary drive is really the way to go.
If your going to do it, do it right the first time.
You're projecting a feeling that isn't based on the reality of others. Second, China has other races that aren't Han. Further more, there are many different cultures in China including local languages that cross over regardless of race.
I think to Microsoft, it's all about installed user base. The idea being that "if you build it, they will come". Perhaps, but if consumers start returning these devices like Netbooks and WinCE devices, there will be some serious damage control going on.
I'm pretty sure that issue with multi-monitor setups and full screen apps have been resolves in Mountain Lion. At least that version of the OS solved my VMWare fusion problem running in full screen mode. But yes, prior versions of OSX did exactly as you described.
Sure. Why not? China would be stupid not to gain a market leverage. That goes for all other nations too. But they better be careful of the devil they're dancing with. You think the Muslims are pissed at the Western world? Well, they may have just painted a target in the East as well. Time will tell.
BTW. China has been extremely active in Africa as of late. The cultural outcome of all this activity will be...interesting to say the least.
Wasteful? Wasteful??!!! According to whom? These video cards are extremely efficient at crunching numbers on a per watt basis. Who are you to decide what's wasteful or not?
The arrogance of the Europeans. It never ceases to amaze me.
I've been a contractor and consultant half my life. The pay was ok if you're single, but not if you have a family. But at least in Texas, the job market is all around stable. That's because we don't have unions fucking up the state with their entitlement politics running the local government.
What's truly ironic is that leftism is what overall exasperates the issue, and yet you drift further to the left. It's like being bitch-slapped and you go "oh!!!, that felt good...do it again". WHY would you do that to yourself?!!!
Fact: America is OVERVALUED in a global market. That's the shakedown we've all been experiencing.
Doesn't matter. It's like someone harping they invented fire and we should heed their authority. The internet is pretty much ubiquitous in all the modern cities of the world now. Is those Saudi's want to censor the Internet, they can censor their own segment or break away like Iran wants to do and form their own national Intranet. Better yet, they can continue to pound sand.
Had a 99 Miata once with cataract headlights. The restoration kit got both of them shiny like new, but was still very yellow and cloudy. They would break down again after a few months which would require me to do the whole process all over again. Eventually, I replaced both of them with new ones. I managed to grind one of the old headlights to half thickness and buff it out again. Same effect! Throughout the entire plastic's thickness, they has suffered significant UV damage.
IMHO, I can be a waste of time. Once the plastic molecules are cracked by UV radiation, no amount sanding and buffing will restore them back to original condition. You're just extending the useful life of them if only for a few more years. Basically, I prefer glass headlights again over plastic ones.
And he almost pulled off his line in the 1989 Batman film. Remember Biden asking about who everyone is going to trust? Well, here's the movie quote (partial first half).
"Who do you trust!" Hubba, hubba, hubba! Money, money, money! Who do you trust? Me? I'm giving away free money..."
Actually, you can get really nice halogen headlight bulbs. Personally, I recommend the Sylvania SilverStar Ultra series. They're kinda pricy compared to other brands, but one of the best (if not the best) aftermarket bulbs on the market.
Not good enough. I want the UN completely dismantled and eliminated! The idea of a "UN" sounds nice, but now it's just a "StarWars Bar Scene" full of corrupt bureaucrats. It's like a form of democracy that votes in favor of tyranny. Freedom at the lowest common denominator.
True. But it's our own having local Americans reselling this shit to other Americans as well. China may be the source of all this crap, but their certainly not the last link in the chain of deceit and lies. There's plenty of blame to go around.
Africa, really? I would think that would have been America. The melting pot of the world and all that. Essentially, racial lineage diversity is a result of migration and trade. When people have a reason to move vast distances and intermingle with other cultures, births can become of such activity.
Agreed. I work in the MSP (Managed Service Provider) sector which is a fancy way of saying that we are outsourced IT. We focus on the SMB market where a company is too small to have a dedicated IT department, but just large enough that they place a trouble ticket in our queue once a week. Sometimes once a day. Anything ranging from tier 1 to 3 support.
However, once you as a company get involved with needing to be HIPPA, PCI, or SOX compliant, that should be synonyms with "dedicated in-house IT dept".
If you really want to keep the Miata and have been keeping the engine maintained per scheduled maintenance, just drop in a SuperCharger. It's less complicated to install and maintain. It also produces more HP throughout the RPM bands. It's like replacing a 4 cylinder engine with a 6 cylinder. All said and done, it will cost you about 5 o 6 grand that includes both hardware and for someone to install it (unless you're mechanic, don't DIY!).
The only problem with forced induction is that you are now *required* to use high octane fuel. The good news is that fuel economy stays the same under normal driving conditions as you're not always running under boost. Older SCer kits were not like this. New ones are.
Don't go for the goosed up MP62 kit unless you've replaced the clutch and rebuilt the engine. Once you start making 300HP, you're right at the thresh hold before the engine grenades.
Whew! Thank goodness! For a moment I was worried it would go all thermonuclear and take out an entire neighborhood. Gotta be careful of the brands you buy; you know?

the swap file should have its own partition

My Chinese wife from Shanghai disagrees with you.
Face it. You're just pissed that I defanged your race card with logic.

I also note that you implicitly call China uncivlised, which sounds awfully racist to me
STOP IT! Just...stop! Race and Culture are two entirely separate things. DO NOT CONFLATE THE TWO!!!

My data doesn't feel safe with a name like that.
But it's perfectly ok to give it to that asshat, Yasser Arafat!

That was quick. You just godwinned an Apple/Samsung story.

Do the letters FO mean anything to you?
