Use glass substrate hard drive platters. Install a pin with a compressed spring. If you need to self-destruct the drive, release the pin and shatter the platters (at 7200 or 10k RPM). Instant maracas!
Flushing out your system with water does remove toxins in the blood. Caffeine is diuretic, so your kidneys are working harder. Though you have to be careful not to flush out too many electrolytes. I'm willing to bet that if tea was as diuretic, it would be just as healthy too if not more so.
You sure about that? I could see SCOTUS going the other way. In all likelihood, they will strike down the healthcare law due to the way in which is was codified. Hopefully they will do the same with this too.
0 to 2 with my satellite connection experience. In both instances, they were either blocking GRE or double NATing. But then again, I was using PPTP connection to a Windows RRAS server. Perhaps a dedicated proprietary SSL VPN client would have faired better. But ya, SATCOMs suck!
Burst is actually kind of silly. It really screws with data rate prediction required to get smooth performance in multi-player games. So, you start playing, the game figures out the rates, everything's smooth, then the burst is over, you lag all to hell, as the game has to renegotiate the data rate.
How?
When I had Comcast, this was never an issue for me. Games are sensitive to latency assuming you are already meeting the optimal bandwidth required by the game. Perhaps on first launch of the game it will attempt to calibrate the best settings via a client to server benchmarking, but I've never experienced the issue you speak of. I suppose that's because my download was at minimum 8mbps and burst-able up to 24mbps even if for a few seconds or so. So in theory, a game benchmarked on a 24mbps connection should function the same when stepped down to 8mbps when I'm using less than 2mbps at any given time. So for me at least, raising and dropping the cap is well outside the scope of bandwidth my games require anyways. Basically moot.
With cable (coax), some system proactively react based on the temperature of the day and exasperated by seasons. He could be at that threshold where signal drops leaving behind a poor SNR level. All it takes is a few degrees to shift him back and forth between that threshold. I know back at my old place in Austin, TX, this was quite common until Time Warner serviced a local amplifier connecting the rest of our apartment complex. Only until it completely failed did they replace it. Which BTW is fine by me. Nothing worse than having to deal with a partial failure of equipment in which an ISP does nothing in the first place.
The backlight of a modern LCD uses quite a bit of power most of the time. The CPU and the rest of the chipset have gotten pretty efficient at conserving power while mainly in idle usage mode (reading, checking e-mail, composing a word doc, etc). It's only when the GPU (Flash, video, HTML5 heavy stuff) kicks in that your battery life really starts to suffer.
None of this is news BTW. Unless you want something with the energy density of thermite, I suggest getting used to tethering power to your mobile device for extended usage and heavy work loads.

When I started the install process, I waited until it completely downloaded and finished 100%. If I recall, there's an option to start playing around 80 to 90% into the download. While I don't know, I'm guessing you started playing right away when given the chance. If so, what you described would make sense.
Diablo 3 isn't bad, but isn't great either. So so. I'm only playing it for the story and some mindless click-through action. But I already knew this going into it, so I'll at least be enjoying it for what it is. YMMV.

And what about transportation. All modern cars are computer controlled. While the battery would still provide current, the ECU would be shot. The program Future Weapons proved that in concept EMP detonation. Imagine millions of cars frozen in time on every highway during rush-hour. Towing them all off alone would be a bitch of epic proportions! If you can find a working tow truck that is.

And China's domestic growth is predicated on US consumption of goods and other foreign investments to provide employment. In a global economy it's a two-way street. If we fall, so will they. Their inflation due to the devaluation of the dollar is proof of that as their currency has historically been pegged to the US dollar. It's also why they've been divesting of it lately. The solution is for both the CCP and the US Feds to stay the hell away from investing or subsidizing in goods and services. This is how trade wars start. And honestly, the only reason it hasn't begun is because both sides don't want to play that game of chicken as both realize how stubborn each side can be.
+1 this. I was thinking the same thing. Like an oil drain plug that collects iron filings, I would think a subdermal magnet might collect iron from hemoglobin over the years.
Take the MacBook Air and add a touchscreen to it. Now make it so the screen can flip and close. You now have an iPad that can turn into a notebook and back again. That's where the industry is headed. Apple Launchpad is a perfect example of a fusion between OSX and iOS. A non-functional fusion of course, but the groundwork has been laid for a future unification of both portable platforms. Microsoft knows this and so they're focusing on cutting right to the chase and take part in this new market about to take center stage.
Now between you and me, I don't want to be poking at a screen all day long. If the Windows 8 Developer preview is anything like the final, it's going to sucks really badly. Fortune 500 companies will be skipping this abomination for sure.
Forget warp engines for a moment. I'd like to see someone design a workable fusion reactor in a space faring vessel. Zero-G, constant shifts in inertia...what an engineering nightmare! OTOH, I suppose computers of the future will make that a much easier job.
I think a notification/warning would be nice prior to purging it from the system. Maybe it does, I don't know. But at least let the owner of the computer know that...
A: This version of flash will be uninstalled because yadda yadda yadda.

B: Accept or Decline, BTW here's a link to obtain the latest version after this Apple update has been completed.
Especially when you're (the aggressor) left footing the bill to pay for the rebuild. If we are not committed to forcing a nation to kneel before the United State of America in the form of a signed declaration of surrender, we have no business getting into a war. This whole middle eastern conflict has been handled all wrong by both administrations. We've been way to soft handed and playing the nice guy for way to long. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't know their history.

Nope. DHS is now worried about body bombs. Basically, surgically implanted bombs where the scar heals. The terrorist waits a year or so before boarding a plane.
You can't stop something like that unless you X-Ray every man, woman, and child. And they will do it too. Don't doubt me on this!
Like, when a server fails. Do nothing to replace it ahead of time. When it fails, blame IT. Management just got promoted with the money he save the company over the years (charts included) with this "do-nothing" attitude . See, makes perfect sense!

Actually, they can't call in that debt. But a faltering of the Chinese economy is still bad news for everyone however.
