    I believe that for a species to evolve into spacefaring capabilities, they will have already solved their resource management issues. Therefore we don't need to worry about them being aggressive to other sentient species because of competition.

    It's also conceivable that this is humanity's litmus test - if we can resolve our internal conflicts and not destroy ourselves in the process, we will eventually earn our place at the intergalactic table.

    It's a equally plausible that intelligence species are like strikes on a match.. the flame starts, glows bright, then dies out. On a scale the size of the universe, the odds of human's development span coinciding with another species' might be incredibly small.

    Groupon turned the deal down because Google would not guarantee a "break-up" fee in the event that the deal fell through based on antitrust concerns.

    The future of clean energy is not likely going to be found in a single energy source. Instead, it'll be the combination of improvements in wind, solar, and yes - biofuels that get the job done collectively. Discounting individual technological research and improvements because it won't save the world all by itself will insure our demise.

    By your own logic then, your life belongs to your parents, not you, and I would argue that you are equating your parental "might" with our societal "might" in order to give you rights.

    Your offspring is not "Yours". The moment is is born, it becomes its own life, protected by law and the constitution. You may be its steward for the first part of its life, but not its owner.

    Feel free to debate the "point where life begins" separately with regards to abortion.

    Paper format also makes it easier to hide anything that has been 'lost' in the printing-to-paper process.

    This is wrong, on so many levels:

    - Manipulative advertising at the very least
    - Complete psychological profiling at the worst (They'll be able to track more than ads - they'll know what type of male/female turns you on, what foods excite you, discover your fetishes, etc.)

    I'll pass. Unfortunately, someday I predict this technology will be built into the TV via a webcam able to detect visible reactions, subvocal communication, etc.

    I met him during an event several years ago. If I recall correctly, he was able to purchase the vehicle during the early-release confusion (Before the dealers fully understood that the vehicles were only to be leased.)

    I'm not saying advancing more gifted students is a bad thing, but what's the rush? Will it really matter in 20 years if they graduated at 16 or 18 years old?

    Part of life (and particularly school) is learning social skills and maturing.

    Frankly, I want my children to grow into rounded, self confident individuals in addition to learning how to apply themselves and succeed.
