Google is merely a search engine, where as Wikipedia is expected to be held to some kind of standard for factual accuracy. The idea of the Chinese government modifying and censoring the information on Wikipedia is antithetical to what encyclopedias are for. They don't want to perpetuate falsified or strategically-omitted information.
The speakers are powered by the speaker cable. These are the rear ones I'm referring to though, the rest is tucked away in an entertainment center cabinet.
My wife's only complaint with my home theater set up was all the wires and how best to hide them. She was totally against me using surround sound because of the wires. Finally I ran the wires under the flooring (it's complicated) and then it was no problem. So in reality these guys have a good point.
Replace the corporations with the government and you will have as much or more corruption, with the added benefits of bureaucratic inefficiency and lack of accountability. The government is already plenty responsible for a good portion of pollution.
I don't believe the Libertarians have any kind of anti-environmental stance. In fact it appears from their site that they want the government to be held accountable for its more than fair share of pollution...
Well there's that, and the fact that we get our ethanol from corn which is not nearly as useful for producing ethanol as Brazil's sugar cane is. And of course, our corn lobby is actually pretty big and have consequently placed nice restrictions on importing ethanol from such countries as Brazil as well as getting sugar cane into the business of producing ethanol. So it's not exactly 'big oil', though their lobby is plenty powerful on its own.
As usual, what's good for the environment/consumer/voter takes a back seat to politicians' special interests.
But I think there is an assumption that the people running the polls will not allow a team of hackers to sit there at the Diebold machine prodding and prying at it, soldering logic boards onto it, and all the other funky stuff they've been doing to Diebold machines to make them mess up. I could just drive a truck into it, that would be even easier than hacking it!
OS X doesn't have a startup sound per se, it's part of the boot loader. It happens whether I'm going to boot into OS X or Windows. I believe you can bypass this by holding the mute key (if you have one) during startup but I don't have mine with me to test. Also there are third party utilities to turn it off.
It's so important that they have it that they will set up sites dedicated to getting the content and connect with thousands of other peers who want it, but then they claim that the people who created this content have no right to ask for money for it. Parts of the DMCA are definitely in need of repair, but the underlying copyright schema is an ownership/creator interest that has existed forever. I'm no model citizen in that regard, I've downloaded the stuff myself, but I'm don't kid myself that I'm doing 'the right thing' and that the copyright owners are waging some kind of immoral war against me.
LOL. You types amaze me. If it weren't for the fact that the World Trade Centers didn't exist anymore you wouldn't believe a word of it would you? Actually I guess I give you too much credit, you still think that was Bush and Blair too, huh?
So why exactly is this guy's blog any more valid than the other things we've heard out of the vast media machine? Occam's Razor alone puts this towards the bottom of the credibility list. "The government is just trying to scare you!"
Please don't accuse me of ethical relitivism when you are apologizing for warrantless searches. Just because it wasn't part of FISA at the time doesn't make it right.
On the contrary, FISA itself issued a ruling in 2002 that said the president had these powers. Carter used them during Vietnam and Clinton used them as well. Who knows who else used them.
I didn't realize Al Sharpton read Slashdot.
You passed.

VHS is already available. You don't even have to mess with menus. ;)
:\
Unless you wanted something more modern, in which case you'll probably be waiting... forever.
Apparently so. I ran it on this machine and it tells me a P4 3.0GHz is not sufficient...
Touched by His noodly appendage.
I did it myself for the cost of the speaker wire and wall plates...
Not sure where your monthly HDMI 'fees' and thousands of dollars come from.

We trust these same individuals to count our paper votes by hand or fed into a machine? Why?

In an emergency, especially those such as a destroyed building, Internet is probably the last thing you'd want to rely on.

And think of all the furry kittens that would die!

Correct. If you read my posts you'd see I was glad...

Who said I was trying to justify anything? I just think it's funny when Europeans generally tell us how much more free they are.
