    there is a easier method than telepathy, why not use water? Yes, I know that pure water doesn't conduct electricity, but with some salt, it does! So all what you need to do is to pour water through out the room, add salt (experiment until you get good conduction), use 2 cords to connect your electrical devices to outlets through water, and you're done!

    Checking SCO site, I couldn't find anything regarding the new 2.6 kernel, so I guess no additional fees are charged over the 2.4 kernel, you can upgrade guys with no worries.

    I don't know, but shouldn't someone actually test it to become tested? This is the way Open Source works, everyone should help developing the software, even non-programmers, by testing, and I guess the kernel team won't release something for production until it is ready for.

    sounds like a variable is used to store how much time has passed since the beginning of the game, after a while (a year in this case), the variable will reach its limit and things start to go wrong, something similar to Y2K bug.

    not to mension Doom III, I really wanted to play it during the holidays :(
    Anyway, I've got Deus Ex 2, it's as good as the first game IMO, I've also got the new Broken Sword game, and I really like it, so it's not a bad gaming holiday for me.

    the mod (MTA) actually reads and writes to the original game memory on the fly, while the game is running, to position players, cars and the like.
    I read this somewhere over their site, but I can't seem to dig it out right now.

    Nope, a dupe is posting exactly the same story because 2 users submitted it with different words, at different times.
    example of dupes:
    id Says 60fps Is Enough For Doom III
    DOOM III to be capped at 60 fps
    an example of what I mean is:
    a story regarding Doom III at QuakeCon is posted, later, a story about a specific feature in Doom III is discussed.
    The second example may not be the best one, but it gives an idea of what I actually mean.

    I know your comment is meant to be a joke, but after thinking about it, I guess using a similar system can give false positives, let's say a story about an event was posted, and then a update regaurding theevent is posted a while later, both will definitely contain many similar sentences.

    one of the ways I can think of to use this technology is to improve search engine capabilities, instead of looking for exactly the same words, search engines then can look for similar sentences, giving more accurate results.
    However, after reading the article, I wonder whether the research can be applied to Latin languages, as they did the research on semantic languages.

    ...because of up2date, it's just too good to manage to live without it, it automatically detects updates for installed software, downloads, and installs them, works great when a security patch is released.
    I remember that it saved me the hassle when sendmail bug was discovered a while back...

    TriStem claims in the article that the technique can be used to regenerate many kinds of cells, including smooth muscle cells, on the other hand, I wonder if regenerating cells is all what the body needs to recover lost parts, because randomly generating cells isn't going to recreate the same organ after all, so there should be another technique to control how cells are regenerated.
