He uses a pencil and paper for starters, and once he's scanned that in he does all the finishing work with Photoshop 6.1 and a massive 12x24 Wacom Intuos.
Those devices are really amazing. I wonder why he doesn't just get rid of the pencil and paper altogether.

Unfortunately, it takes a long time for devices like these to make it to the US, if they make it at all.
Note that you can see some pretty interesting "pre-painted" gear directly at the company's website.
With all of the new "video angles" being promoted in sports broadcasts, I'm surprised that they haven't stuck cameras into the balls themselves.
