    The mess education is in these days has largely been created by academia and new-age, feel-good educational approaches replacing tried and true methods of actual learning. Therefore, he's quite possibly part of the problem, not the solution.

    I live about 30 minutes outside of San Francisco. What's frightening about The City is the people who live there assume everyone who criticizes them are ignorant hillbillies.

    I don't have a problem with them taking whatever job than can get. I do have a problem with American companies screwing over American workers. If this keeps up, no one will be able to afford the products or services of these companies, so they're basically trying to put themselves out of business.

    Don't laugh. A couple of years ago I saw a very similar job ad. They ran it for months. Nobody with the skill set they wanted would have taken the job at the offered rate (less than $10/hour). I don't remember if I emailed them asking if they were out of their fucking minds.

    How very new age, "we must consider the _feelings_ of the criminals." Fuck that. Read the story, he isn't just some kid who remotely hacked the school system. He is also being charged with breaking and entering as he entered the school off hours to access the systems physically.

    It's very typical for news stories to list the total maximum penalty to sensationalize the story. He'll probably not see a single day of prison.
