I didn't post the details because it would be too much to put in a slashdot post. I guess I was wrong to assume that a slashdot reader would have enough intelligence to use a search engine. My bad.
Except Moore is a lying sack of shit. I wouldn't trust him to tell the truth if I asked him what's the time.
For proof of his tendency to lie, analyze that movie work of fiction, "Bowling for Columbine". I will never again watch the Academy awards because they gave that movie "best documentary". In my world, a documentary should be based in fact.
20 is a rather high score to drop at. I refuse at >8.0 and tag at >4.0. Yes, refuse. I run SA via Exiscan-acl so the sender is still connected when the email is scanned. It's a very low volume mail server so this is possible. I wouldn't attempt that on a high volumn network.
Between a few good blacklists and SA, almost no spam is getting through. In fact, the only crap slipping in is very short spams (not enough keywords to get a decent score) coming from open relays that haven't been listed and Cox Cable customers (I think they have everyone on static IPs so the dynablock RBL doesn't work). I may blacklist their entire IP range and whitelist their official mail server IP address.
Other than not supporting a war without a second resolution
Second resolution? How about 19 resolutions. Of which Saddam abided by exactly zero. What would one more resolution exactly do? Oh, wait. What about France's declaration that they would veto any and all resolutions that authorized war? With that stupid statement, France guaranteed that Saddam wouldn't agree to the terms of his surrender.
I'm sure France is making every effort to root out any terrorists
Actually, there are doing close to nothing. For example, there have been numerous firebombing of synagogues in Paris. Instead of being smart and investigating these for possible terrorist connections, the French authorities have declared the cause as "youthful thugs" and basically ignored them. Ignoring the problem does not make them go away. The inaction of the police have resulted in even more attacks against Jews and Jewish owned property. The French government, being largely antisemitic doesn't see this as a bad thing. It's going to turn around and bite them in the ass in the not too distant future when the huge Muslim population in and around Paris, fueled by poverty and its large unemployment rate, turns against them.
Guess what happened the last time a large population of the poor went on a rampage in Paris? It wasn't called the "Terror" for fun.
I don't drive an SUV, and I don't suffer from road rage. On the other hand, I don't think it's out of line to want to rearrange the the brain stem of some jerk who messes with my daughter.

It's not the mothers' sob stories. It's the facts. Teenagers have an extremely high accident rate. They are inherently bad drivers, every one of them. It was foolish of the state to allow me behind the wheel of a car when I was 16. I'm much better now that I know that "yes, you can die, asshole!" Let's rephrase that for the dense teenagers (all teenagers are dense) here in slashdot: You are NOT immortal.
BTW, my daughter is now a teenager and is doing the countdown to when she can get her permit and license. I highly recommend that in 2 years you stay off the roads. It won't be safe.
It's an app that is part of the OS's suite of standard Apps you can't entirely do without. It's not free - it's just that the cost is carried inside another product.
And that's because Microsoft made damn sure you couldn't run Windows without IE. Tying IE into the OS was simply a way for them to gain an illegal monopoply. It also had the distinction of being the cause of most of the security vulnerabilities that are so common on the various windows platforms.
The US government DID invade a soveriegn nation. It did so without international support. It did so in violation of international law. The means, especially in this case, do not justify the ends.
You are so wrong. There were more countries involved (33) with the invasion of Iraq than there were with the original Operation Desert Storm/Shield (only 23). We also had a UN resolution that said to Saddam, "submit to inspections or we invade". So what if a few countries such as France and Germany weren't in on it. They are not important and can be ignored. We now know why the Axis of Weasles countries were so against invading Iraq. They were making huge amounts of money selling banned weapons to Saddam and didn't want their pie upset.
That's why I put a special filter in my mail server configuration (I use Exim). If the subject contained more than one "fwd:", it would refuse the message. I did this after repeatibdly asking my mother and sister to stop sending me "funny" stuff, email tax alerts, reports of viruse that make your monitor explode, etc., etc., et al, ad naseum. I have no idea how long they kept trying to send me that crap before finally getting the message.
My server is headless and sits on the closet. When I installed Debian on it, I had to unplug the monitor from my workstation long enough to get a basic system installed because I don't have a spare one lying around.
Just think how nice it would be to pop in a CD, sit back at your desk, go to an IP address, and volia, install your server without actually being there.
But what IP address? When I plug a new system into the router, it's going to get a semi-random IP address from the router's DHCP server.
Don't get me wrong, I agree that being able to remotely install would be a great idea if the IP address problem can be resolved AND any security problems can be dealt with.
And now it's true. The last two computers I ordered, I specifically said "No floppy drive". One system was for my wife at her work (her company paid for it) and the other was for me (my new server). We both have 128Meg USB drives. Mine is a Laks watch, hers is a conventional type that she calls "the gadget".
She loves her USB drive. In the past, when she wanted to bring work home (which is very often) she would either put it on a zip disk (which are too damn slow and are not reliable) or burn a CD, which was reliable but took too long. Floppy was out because the file was too big (MS Access database). Now she just drags the file to the "removable drive" icon and she's done. It's USB 2.0 (the fast one -- er, is that fast or high speed?), so it copies damn fast.
Oh, the system can be booted from USB or CD, so crash recovery is still possible.
It has cost me 50 cents a month for several years. All the time that the phone companies have been collecting this fee to cover the costs of providing number portability they fought tooth-and-nail against it. Yeah, they're real happy to collect a fee for a service, but they're not exactly thrilled about providing said service.
Yes, most states set the age of consent at 16, but not all.
I used that example because it actually happened to someone. The guy cut a deal with the district attorney. He would plead guilty and get a suspended sentence. After the fact he discovered he had to register as a sex offender. Unfortunately, I don't remember what state this happened in. It was a few years ago.
Did you know an 18 year old guy with a 17 year old girl friend is a sex offender in some states? How would you like to be treated just like some rat bastard who molested a few 6 year olds because you were banging your girlfriend who was 1 month away from her 18th birthday? This could happen. You could be hounded for the rest of your life because of this exact situation.
Child molesters are evil fucks, but the government has been getting overly zealous with their definition of the crime.
Damn, after paying more attention to what's in the actual bill, I have to change my stance because this piece of shit turns out to be WORSE than no law. It overrides state anti-spam laws, so our rather decent California anti-spam law will be nullified. It also legitimizes spam if it is clearly marked with a valid postal address. I didn't see anything about requiring "ADV:" or something similiar in the subject, thus making it difficult to reject them early on.
Basically, the bill will get rid of the fly-by-night herbal viagra spammers and hands control over to the DMA and other industry groups so they can spam the hell out of us -- without reasonable recourse to stop them.
Some will argue that it won't help because all the spam comes from China and South Korea. Wrong. A lot comes from those two countries, but the number one source of spam in the world is the U.S.
Then they'll argue that the spammers will move their mail servers to another country. So what? If the company doing business is still located in the U.S., the anti-spam laws will apply. I already block China and South Korea. I'm damn close to blocking Brazil. If the spammers move, it will be easier to block them.
Then they'll say the spammers will move their entire business to another country. Hell, that works for me. Maybe they'll move to the next country on the anti-terrorism hit list.
As for the idiots saying spam is protected by the Constutition. Bzzt! Wrong! Your right to free speech does not extend to breaking into my home to set up your soap box. Your right to free speech does not give you the right to make me pay to listen. Your right to free speech does not continue when I tell you to shut up and get the hell out of my house, nor does it mean you can sneak back in the next day to make me listen yet again.

Microsoft Exchange, all the safety and performance of a Pinto.
Anybody using it should be charged money for stuff everybody else gets for free.
You spent money on anti-spam software? Why? SpamAssassin doesn't cost a dime.
RBLs and high end spam filtering at the MTA , sparky.

The Vatican has a sort of ambassador to the UN.
I still don't give a rat's ass about the opinion of an organization guilty of coverying up numerous cases of child molestation.
I bet I get moderated down for this.

Does that mean the 100,000,000+ people killed by communism is a good thing?
