Here's what X can do today that we will lose: Run applications on one virtual or physical machine and display on another. This is not the same as VNC or terminal services.
You know that OS X 10.7 does that now for native non-X applications.
I'm pretty sure people are just saying that for 90+ percent of users X is displayed locally. I'm pretty sure that there's a good way to create X's features on top of Wayland. But I have to agree that improving local display is a good priority. Then those of us who need GUI application display over the network can work on that– I'm pretty sure it's not impossible.
We solved problems like this ages ago, just negotiate allocations before automatically flipping the switch. The grid should know what each meter's plan is or at least it should only inform meters of available cheap energy as it is available and then just don't broadcast to more meters.
It's not like the grid will say "HEY CHEAP POWER!!!!1111" to every automated system all at once.
If there is an entire nation that has no resources to trade and they are not capable of growing their own food, then the population will starve
Speaking as a volunteer at a children's center in Northern Mozambique even people in destitute poverty may have many children, especially in a culture where transient sexual relationships are often encouraged.
I don't mean to sound too much like I'm not a robot, but watching babies, children, teenagers and adults starve until the population reaches equilibrium because of some imaginary lines in the sand is a pretty insane plan. I think there is potential to be more creative. Other than that, you're pretty much right.
Well I'm can't agree that they're doing a great job saving "future money" but yeah increasing revenue (taxes) is a valid way to reduce the deficit. I'm just not sure I trust these guys to raise taxes without pre-spending the new monies seven ways till Sunday.
Conventional wisdom is that when your debt is as high as your GDP and you're budget deficit is still 20% of GDP that you have problems. There may be "bad things" happening in banks but frankly I'm a little more afraid of the bad things happening in government. $120,000 in debt for each taxpayer (rich and poor) is not something we should just ignore in the name of preserving fantasy spending land.
The ground?
Bicycles don't have feet.
prefix a + or put the know rare word in quotes.
Also, keeping X is just part of a widespread movement to . . . keep X.

Now it's just missing realtime geometry and texture acquisition and mapping.
I think you mean sources remain "embarrassingly unclear"

Probably just an issue at the top of the peermid.
Pretty sure the internet is made of tubes, not pipes.
Have you seen the size of the iPhone 4's circuit board? It's tiny and border to border filled efficiently with few components. The sim slot uses a huge percentage of space. http://news.cnet.com/i/tim//2010/06/22/apple-iphone-4-logic-board.jpg
App Store? Repository.
Well speed and power. The Firewire port made a much better iPod charger than a USB port.
Amen. Especially on notebooks.
Resisted arrest, died in a firefight.
Finally Microsoft is caring about security . . . National Security
Or you need a not-flat wall.
As soon as IPv6 isn't adopted
