  1. Re:Key word "former" on Former CIA Head Calls for Limiting Access to the Internet · · Score: 1

I understand your point that he knows too much to ever be a normal guy flipping burgers at McDonalds again, but that really doesn't argue against my point that he is no longer in control of the CIA, which is what I meant by former head of the CIA. Yeah, he knows a lot, but he doesn't run the show anymore, in the same way that Clinton knows a lot, but is no longer making any decisions. The point is that he is not currently in control, not that he will ever be a normal citizen again.

Before you go freaking out with you tinfoil hats, read that article's title again. He is the FORMER director of the CIA, which means that now he is just a guy with an opinion, just like us (only with probably fewer computers/components sitting around unused in his house/parents' basement). He has no real authority over anything right now, he just has more of a voice because of his previous job as head of the CIA.

Actually, most Americans didn't vote for Clinton in '92 either (he won a plurality, not a majority). And really, if you are trying to make the point of what MOST Americans did, most don't normally vote. We don't normally see voter turnout exceed 30 or 40%.

I like a lot of what the ACLU does, but I have to agree that they have very little consistency lately, and therefore, very little credibility. That is not so much an anger-driven charge as it is a warning to them. Losing credibility by making nonsesical arguments such as the ones posted above only makes them more and more powerless in today's society. We need a group like what the ACLU claims to be, not what it actually is starting to become, which is a politcally motivated group with an agenda. I do like the idea of the ACLU being around, and that is why I want them to watch themselves. It is certainly not that I hate them and want them gone.

While I am not a professional photographer/videographer, I do know that photographing and videotaping surfing is largely restricted due to the problems related to having lots of expensive equipment in the water. Currently, a lot of the video/pictures you see of surfers are from land, and they aren't nearly as cool as the shots from the water, inside the tube.

While most people seem to be passing this idea off, this really could lead to some cool photos/videos coming from the water. Granted, the technology would probably need a lot of tweaking. It may not seem all that worthwile of a product to develop, but I do think there is slightly more use to this than most people seem to be giving credit for.

Plus, I am a geek, so I will probably be the one on those beaches trying to get onto the wireless networks that they are using.
