    I think people prefer dogs to cats because cats are essentially vermin like rats :) On a more serious note though, I think it has more to do with dogs being willing to please and cats just not giving a shit.

    Humility and patience may work for a lot of companies; particularly if you are working mainly with men. I have worked in I.T in many organisations mainly made up of women and I can tell you his response IS perfectly justified. This is the main reason I will NEVER EVER work for a law firm again, legal secretaries are EVIL, EVIL I tell you.

    'No Fucking Way' I had a similar situation at my work where my boss has been putting pressure on me to unblock ports and lax security. No way you could reason with him or say 'No Fucking Way', so I wrote him a Memo outlining the dangers of what he wanted me to do. He still wouldn't back down and told me it's his business and I'm paid by him to do as I'm told. I now start exactly on time not earlier and I leave exactly on time regardless if the network is down....

    Hmmm rail gun huh, but how do you get the enemy onto the tracks ?. Paint a big X at the end of the track and suspend an anvil over it, shoot the suspended anvil with the rail gun ?.     I agree with you, I think it's much more probable. The Government was testing a top secret flying chicken aircraft, it malfunctioned.....Possibly as Chickens are not so good at flying long distances and the occupants escaped in an egg escape pod which didn't work so well. Upon recovery it was noticed the occupants (possibly aliens) strangely resembled an omelette. In other late breaking news it is suspected Steve Ballmer of Microsoft corporation has obtained illegal alien anal probe technology in the hopes to build this feature into Microsoft's fledgling Windows Vista operating system....Microsoft's CEO Bill Gates has been reported as saying 'It's Not A Bug, It's A Feature' when questioned on the new alien anal probe technology......More later on this fast breaking story as it happens.
