I disagree with that free money statement. In tort law there is the provision of Quasi-Contract. There would be an implied promise to pay those debts granted everyone realizes that a credit card is not free money unless specifically stated otherwise. So therefore an implied contract would exist at that point ("I sent you that credit card, and if you use it you would still have to pay me back") as would be a just remedy.
However she could probably dismiss interest on the card granted just a simple payback of principal would be considered just remedy.
Check out quasi-contract and common law contract laws if you'd like on the Internet and you'll have a better idea of what I'm talking about:-)
Does it amuse anyone that 2 out of the three nations that have ever launched a human being are, or have been Communist? I think it's time to start reading up on Marx:-p
Looking at stuff on my desk, and coming up with some weird brainstorms:
Wi-Fi Orange Juice?
Wi-Fi Stapler? (a red one too!)
Wi-Fi CD-Rom case (actually kinda handy in telling you if your CD is in the case or not, if possible for the truly lazy!)
Wi-Fi books (I suppose the ability to communicate their contents into PDF might be kinda cool, just a bit expensive I would think...)
Wi-Fi pen (how much ink is left?)
Ok manufacturers take note...
Well today's enemy may be tomorrow's friend, cherish the thought but in a couple years the RIAA might just be the hero too, saving us from the treacherous Anti download music policies (including the legit stuff) that the telcos might be implementing to save bandwidth, I know it sounds far-fetched but you wait...
doooh, he got me by one minute, I was posting on a game boy you see, those old crappy screens are bad on eyes for telling time:-p *sigh* my karma is gonna hit bottom for my stupidity today...
*phew* beat everyone to it and saved the page before the Slashdot effect got it, if anyone wants a copy, lemme know (saved locally on my comp). I'll email or post later on or something if it gets slashdotted.
Ho hum...windows security sucks....what else is new....
Though quite honestly, Microsoft should stick more to what it's good with, being a user friendly operating system where security isn't a concern for the end user. Let the *nix geeks create the ultra powerful, ultra robust secure as can be solutions anyways...
well in buying the product I could possibly obtain an address....something I can use, I'll play private investigator and there will be no stopping me, Spammers look out I'm taking names as of Jan 1....
Spammers generally sell product, if I buy a product from them (yeah I'll play dumb) and if the value of the product is less than the value of the damages I could receive, I still get good compensation for the effort:-)
The last time I stepped into my mom's office (she's a lawyer btw) and still found people there using Wordperfect 5.1/DOS. Whatever works for your purpose, as my mom tells me "It does legal briefs better than anything else that I know how to use, so why change?" Why should authors use the latest version of MS Word or Vi, or Emacs or anything?
Once people have found a comfortable niche in technology, why change until you have better needs?
Ok first it's the domain name disputes (sex.com for example), then it's the phony registration scheme, then it's this sitefinder service, somebody really needs to give the CEO an a$$ whoopin. Who volunteers?
The feds? I say they're interfering with other business and are lawsuit material (IANAL).
Does ICANN truly have any power to strip them of their registry privileges (I'd hope so).
Or maybe just Darwin will take hold for the fact that they've pissed off the entire tech world to the point where nobody will give them money, and having none they die and let the stronger brains survive.
You could almost do that, granted the following languages were available on C64 (http://www.npsnet.com/danf/cbm/languages.html)
Ada
APL
Assembly language
BASIC interpreters & compilers
BASIC extenders
C
COBOL
COMAL
FORTH
FORTRAN
LISP
LOGO
M (MUMPS)
Pascal
PILOT
None of these are object oriented I believe (some I never heard of). However Java was begat by C++, which is Begat By C, so cutting a few corners here and there, a barebones version of Java for C64 might just be doable...
Here I am on my old Pentium III 800, Visual Studio.net (gasp!) compiles in no time flat for the projects that I work on, and I play nothing more than Starcraft and Civ III. I do wonder how Intel manages to stay in business (oh wait the chip industry is dying, never mind...).
Perhaps Intel should focus more on....(fill in the blank please, Intel seems to only be really focusing on chips...)
with millions of American households running Telephone equipment, you'd have to almost sweep house by house to pull out all the old Analog equipment. I shudder to think of the cost...
Well that is a thought, it might be easier to trace SCO's "hidden" code that it claims is within Linux at the earlier versions, making it easier to trace fewer lines of source code. Then maybe we can remove all the code and SCO's lawsuit loses strength. Win or lose though, can't we just get all this SCO misery over with aready....
IMHO Chimps belong in our Genus, when they can come up with a classification system for us humans. Until then, they don't have the reasoning power to be in our Genus, how does that sound?

well this tracking must explain my impulses for buying Catcher in the Rye all the time :-p
For those of you who are wondering the movie, Conspiracy Theory with Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts

I for one welcome our new matrix overlords, but I can't imagine a beowulf cluster of them because I can't watch the movie you insensitive clod!
