I hope your post will be moderated down, because I don't want people see how you embarass yourself calling me that way.

Speaking about myself I might add that for me MMIX is the perfect processor (at least the most perfect designed so far) and I always look at every CPU architecture with the most important factor being how close it is to MMIX in certain aspects. I wonder what is the perfect processor for other people here on Slashdot. I bet for most of you it is Alpha, but I may be wrong.

First of all double-check the contract with your lawyers. And I don't mean just reading the preamble. Concentrate especially on the parts and the exact phrasing about copyright holders. You need a good copyright law and contract lawyer. A good one may not be cheap but trust me, this is the most important single point of failure, so it pays off to hire an expert. Second of all make sure no one of your current people can be fired no matter what. From my experience this is the most common mistake made by small companies being bought by larger ones. They sign a great contract, everyone is great, until people start getting fired and being replaced by workers of the buying company. Be careful. Be very careful. Remember that they are bigger and you must take care about your own best interest. I wish you good luck. I really hope you will not end up like most of the small companies I have done business with.

The game does not have to be new to be great. For example, I am playing The Day Of The Tenticle right now, which is probably the latest game I find well made. Unfortunately Slashdot is not the whole world. There are people who use this software and they would have no idea about those flaws if we didn't talk about them. We cannot ignore people just because they are uneducated or incompetent, because they are the majority of our society. Do you think Microsoft would tell those poor people that there are flaws in their software if we didn't find and try to exploit them? I don't really think so.

If anything, we should be pointing out flaws in FS/OSS software so that we can make that better.

O course we do. Free software has just much less flaws than the proprietary counterpart and that is why you can see much more Slashdot articles about fatal flaws in Microsoft Office than any flaws in TeX. The same is true with ISS and thttpd, et cetera.

Arsenic kills much less people than pork meat. But does it mean it is less deadly? No. It just means that fortunately much less people take arsenic than abuse eating pork fat. We have to look at two factors here: the raw deadlibility (D) and the average usage of LD50 dose (U). Number of deaths caused by the substance we are experimenting with (N) is not N=f(D) as you imply, but N=f(D,U) where f->DU/2 to be more precise.
