    the story, or at least the butchered version that manages to get on TV here in the US, seems hollow and lacks any semblence of warmth. I find it hard to care about any of the characters. Cowboy Bebop grows on ya, but it has always had good character development.

    If the product is currently supported you can receive a copy of the CD for the price of sending it and a replacement cost of the CD, very nominal. All you have to do is provide proof of license or purchase. If it is a copy of a NON-supported product, or an earlier version of a currently supported product you are SOL. The transfer of ownership clause is standard in user software, but large companies sign special pricing deals and are subject to specific clauses that they KNEW about prior to signing the deal...TOUCH SHIT BigK, now we can see why they are going bankrupt, stupid management...

    beside being a nice noose for some spinning fan to grab, a handle for some annoying rugrat to yank, or a leash for some even more annoying grabby BIATCH. I wear casual clothes appropriate to the variety of tasks I have to do, NONE of which involve dealing with the public, ALL of which involve keeping whining developers and managers hardware working. F%#%#%^% em, when I go on vacation half of them do too, the ones that don't end up with stuff piled on my desk for fixing when I get back. If they want to let me go for not wearing a tie so be it. I can find another job, it is the half baked code monkies that are in a crush anyways. There are LOTS of jobs for certified hardware techs with broad experience backgrounds.

    You must be unemployed or underage. Respond using your employers email and you are responding as an agent of the company. I don't work for hotmail so I don't see any sort of correlation. By your logic responding from home would ensure I was a rep of SBC ?

    LOL I miss the BOFH :) Things just aren't the same these days...What with ergonomics and windows and things. It is almost as if the company is trying to hint that people have rights and shouldn't be treated as mere playthings for my amusement. Imagine that :)

    so I learned PROPER technique prior to being indoctrinated by M$. Network install, DHCP boot, standard hardware, and a GOOD backup network, you'd be suprised how many machines one person can support, but he's right, there are several of us :)

    I am the PC tech for a large BUSINESS, 17" is too small, we order on 19" or larger. For business the LCD's are nice and easy on your eyes, for gaming they just plain suck, slow blurry and running at low end resolutions. I'll stick with my 21" .23 monitor at 1200X1600.

    then ONE, NO REWRITES. If it is just temp storage I've been able to use a disk like 40-50 times for passive data storage without incident. I do keep the disks in a dark place and DO NOT EXPOSE them to sunlight. I seriously doubt the veracity of using a cdrw 1000 times. Not that I doubt your word, but the vendor hype :)

    financial institution, but as a large one, we have an INTERNAL microsoft update server, with ONLY CORPORATE approved updates. If you take a corporate installed OS to the windows update site it will inform you that you are an enterprise customer, please contact your system admin for 'approved' updates. But just for Sh*ts and Giggles I forwarded the gist of this document to
    one of the numerous lawyers hanging about...

    well said...I had XM for a brief period but I found that they were just as shallow as the top 40 stations. I was really hoping for a deeper eclectic collection, maybe some 'b' sides etc, what I got was clearer top 40 crap, in what ever genre they choose to offer. I am back to the model you outlined, with an mp3 plaeyr in the car and AM radio for news.

    if you have no messenger then you don't see printer messages, or disk full messages. The alerter service would fail but I think thats about it.

    it is a cli and batchable, this can be supremely irritating as the only info given with the popup is wins name which is useless unless you are in the same domain/ou.

    Dell does refuse to trouble shoot anything but an authorized configuration, meaning what they shipped, or someother setup that they support explicitly. It is a corporate standard, no touchie the insides....of course us server monkies never RTFM or follow the rules :)Although I've had real good luck with Dell support, their phone people are sharp and quite helpful.

I don't know Bush so I don't hate him, I do not however have any respect for him, based on his actions and rhetoric. He scares me more than anything else...Like the old Twilight Zone episode with the super powered kid in charge of everything, liable to throw a tantrum and lash out at anytime...
