Indians (specifically Hindus) do not worship cows, the cow is revered, for its milk.
Revered != Worship.
Nevertheless it is a positive sign that India takes its democracy and its citizens' privacy seriously.

I build both firefox and chrome from source, and firefox's performance always lags behind chrome.
Not to play an apple fanboy or anything but could it possible be that they are blocking the counterfeit cables so that no one gets electrocuted while charging their phone...
Am I the only person that thinks this sentence doesn't make sense?

On OS X, System Preference (Mac version of control panel) is "one-click" away, just click once on the Apple icon on the upper right hand corner of your screen and there is there you have the System Preference.
Or if you are like me, you keep it in your dock, and its right in your face and again "one-click" away.
Rather than buy any game companies, apple should invest in someone who can make a quality pda that goes right along with my ipod, mac book and all the other simplfied computer experiences that I've associated with owning apple products.

-fPIC is position independent code and its used for compiling shared library. Forget compiling xft2. Try setting the following flag,
PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/X11R6/lib/pkgconfig:/sw/lib/p kgconfig/; assuming your gtk install prefix is/sw.
The above variable will point configure to the.pc files which should automatically configure pango to use apple's x11 xft.
I think apple X11 has xft support, but I am not sure if about xft2? Nevertheless, pango works, and I do have antialias fonts in gtk.
Sorry I am not familair with any gnome-osx mailing lists.

try adding -fno-common to your CFLAGS, also this must be compiled with the -fPIC flag. The other dependent libraries must be compiled with the same CFLAGS.
Which pango version are you building ?
This is strange. I restarted the system, and now top work. The error had some thing to do with/dev/mem/ permissions.
Diskutil fixed that. But it works now. Thank you all for you help.

Impact: With multiple browser windows active Safari users could be mislead about which window activated a pop-up window.
Description: When multiple Safari windows are open, a carefully timed pop-up could mislead a user into thinking it was activated by a different site. In this update Safari now places a window that activates a pop-up in front of all other browser windows. Credit to Secunia Research for reporting this issue."
and some of us buy/like Macs for the UNIX underpinnings. I choose to buy a Mac because I get the UNIX goodness; having MS Word availble to me on the platform was a bonus.
I would like to see the new spinoff merge with MIPS and create some real compeition to IBM if not Intel. Then maybe we can get some real alternatives to x86. It would be nice to be able to compute on cheap platforms other than x86. With with Linux as your OS it will not matter much which platform one uses along as the the platform supports linux and vice versa.
I thought power companies usually run QNX photon or some other OS instead of windows inorder to avoid the blaster scenario.

I do believe the Chinese and Indian people are smart, however I do not believe they are as creative or intrepid as western folks. It seems to me, that new concepts or challenges [read going to the moon] arise in the west, but are then copied and/or exploited in the east. Eighter way no harm done, as long as we all give credit to the folks that concieve of the novel notions first [read mostly uk and us]. It would be nice if the folks in the east would concieve of a new challenges first instead of following, but this might be beyond their control due to other matters that their citizens deem much more inportant such as health care, religion , food, etc.

Just curious what sort of bugs are present in OS X's kqueue?
Again just curious. No flaming intended.

Don't figure I will need this on Mac, since Spotlight http://www.apple.com/macosx/tiger/spotlight.html/ will pretty much serve a similiar purpose.
