Hahaha, that's one of the funniest things I've read in a while!

Seriously though, what's wrong with people these days? I can understand that people get angry after this, but it's actually quite harmless. The author saying stuff like

They messed with the wrooong dude on this one. I cost the Million Mom March between $5mil and $8mil, I cost Diebold Elections Systems $45mil less than two months ago. Theyre gonna PAY for this mess.

That just proves he's an idiot. If he instead took this as the joke it is, maybe people would take him a little more serious...

I didn't like the shape of the white earbuds too much (they were uncomfortable to wear in the ear), but I wanted a set that was still possible to carry in my pocket, and that matched the i-pod.

This is what I ended up with.

  6. teen entertainment on Spread The Love (And Pay Us) · · Score: 3, Interesting

I live in Norway, and here teenagers have for many years spent big money on ringtones, logos, screensavers etc for their mobile phones. Now, with the new phones, people have started paying for mms messages, games etc as well.

Also, there are tons of tv programs where you can pay for having your sms shown on the screen for a brief moment. Sort of like using IRC, but spending $1-2 each time you press enter.

My point, I guess, is that the way young people spend their money doesn't really amaze me anymore...

Ah, so I guess we should all follow his brilliant example then...

  9. Fair trial? on Saddam Hussein Arrested · · Score: 5, Interesting

The question now is: Will he get a fair trial? As far as I could make out from the news broadcast here (Norway), he will face a court specifically assigned to try the cases of members of the former regime. Now, this court was assigned by who, excactly? Let me guess, Americans? Wouldn't it be more fair to try him in the international court in Haag?

  11. Deja vu on Ritz Disposable Digital Camera Hacked · · Score: 5, Insightful

Hmm, anyone else remember the I-Opener?

A $99 computer with a proprietary (QNX-based) OS on a flash disk, that was sold at a loss because the company figured they'd make money from their dialup service... Until someone found the IDE connector on the motherboard and installed something else.

Well, after a short war between the hackers and the company (including state of the art protection mechanisms as epoxy glue on the bios, torx screws, clipped IDE pins etc) the company finally had to raise the price of the unit, resulting in the sales plumeting, and in the end bankrupcy.

Now, I'm not saying it's a bad thing to hack devices like this, heck I've got an iopener (running jailbait linux) standing next to my main computer. But there is a good chance that soon nobody will use the $11 developing deal, resulting in the cameras getting pulled from the stores.

Just as there were lots of people happily using iopeners as they were intended, I'm sure there are lots of people happy with the service that Ritz is providing, and if so it's a shame if we, the hacker community, proceed to destroy yet another service for other consumers.
