How about Apple, instead of playing the RIAAs little bitch, they do something new.
Completely new.
Have bands and artists to publis their own work on iTMS. Perhaps set up a separate company that handles marketing the actual music published on iTMS. Etc...
This would obviously take a lot of time, as bands have contracts and such to stick with. But I thik over time, it could be the new medium for all music distribution. And Apple could start it.
They will not go into attics or anything. Basically, they do it on the outside because it's easier for them.
One thing is nice though, it comes with a backup batter (which they were lazy with that too, I won't go into details though). So if the power goes out your internet will still be up, as well as your new fiber phone lines.
They setup a new box outside your house and transfer your phone lines onto the fiber channel (up to 4), and then run a cat5 cable around your house to where it will be installed inside, drill a whole through the wall, slide it inside, and then fill the whole with silicone.
For the connection we get (15/2), CAT5 is more then sufficient.
Progressive Scan does not get you ANYTHING at all unless you have a TV that can play that progressivly scanned DVD.
Progressive Scan DVD players are called that because they can output at 480p (some can even do 720p). As you may have guessed, the p is where the progressive comes in. Where as standard NTSC resolution is 408i (or interlaced).
So you see, your clamoring for progressive scan and not caring about HD support doesn't really make any sense, as they are one in the same.
I wouldn't say that the Borg are bent on galactic conquest, persay. More they will do anything they can to imrpove themselves (and how they do that is by assimilating other speices).
The Borg do not care about political power, ownership of planets, etc... all they care about is enhancing themsleves.
The only time I've ever had XP really BSOD on me is from a bad nVidia graphics driver.
I recently had some problems with 2000 where the system had kernel dumps like 2x a day, BUT, that was only after putting the harddrive into a system with a new mobo and processor, which I didn't expect to actually work in the first place, as in the past I was never even able to get it to boot. Upgrading to XP actually solved my problem.
I'm sure just a simple sfc/scannow would have done the trick, but I didn't have 200 w/ a slipstream of SP4 available at the time.
If you are only going to spend $100, might as well save your money and use the built-in firewall that comes with Routing and Remote Access, it works quite well.

I hate to break the news to you, but IE3 was on par with Netscape 3, and IE4 just blew Netscape out of the water. MS only 'sabtaged' Netscape because IE was simply a much better browser at the time.
Hell, for the longest time, IE was THE browser to use because of it's standards compliance, features, etc...
Also, the only security advantage Firefox has with not being integrated is that it's not shipped with the OS. The fact is, is that IE is shipped with every single Windows computer, and as such anyone can be exploited by it. IE is NOT part of the OS, except that the rendering engine is used to render some OS componants, however, it is no more integrated than Firefox. Firefox is also just a front-end, just that it is a front-end to a different rendering engine (Gecko).
I don't know about other colleges but Computer Science is in the engineering department here. Now whether or not everyone there had degrees, who knows, but engineer is a correct term.
Also, Mace's fighting conditions were much better, not to mention he is far younger, and has a more aggressive fighting style (notice how he pretty much turned to the dark side just before his death, even though he was still against Palpatine).
But gun laws only effect the law abiding citizen, which really makes gun laws pointless for the most part. Sure, it's harder for a criminal to get a gun, but if they want one, they will get one. The only thing that can put a huge dent in this is eliminating our right to bear arms, and even then it won't bring it down completely.... not to mention it will bring about more problems than prohibition did.

Good job.
Did you read the entire article?
Plus, the power goes out here quite often. It's just a quick flicker. It used to happen litterally every day at around 10AM.
Doesn't seem like much, I do run a business and they can happen at just the worst time possible.

But you can not view 480p on a standard TV, you at least need some sort of support, be it HDTV or a lesser TV, just not your standard TV.

Well, 1024x768 is a HUGE improvement on the standard NTSC resolution.
I suggest you compare HDTV to standard TV side by side.
There is a HUUUUUGE difference.
(D)ARPANET was the foundation of the internet.
He's not talking about in all of time, he is talking about recently.
You are not aloud on the internet anymore... especially /.

Well, we also have "computer engineering", who do programming as well.
Real engineers are elitest pricks :)

Windows95 actually came with IE2 (which was basically Mosaic with a face-lift).
Win95 OSR2 came with IE3, which was actually on part with Netscape 3.
Along with what others have said...

Yeah, and it was probably the most hated of the 3 Indy films.
It was said that Yoda was once a great warrior.

Guess what, the book, oddly enough, gives away the entire story as well...
WTF were they thinking?
