Is it just me, or has NOBODY on here ever even used the basic firewall built into RRAS, which does more than just the standard Windows firewall, and which was shipped with the original Win2k3.
Now that is an interesting problem.
Perhaps when the multi-cored CPUs come out, there will be a patch for it, who knows.
Of course, multi-core CPUs are mostly going to be targeted towards the bleeding edge users at first, until they are more a mainstream product, I don't see much of a problem here.
It's just such a pain to have to wait for it to access the floppy, and then wait to read/write to it.
I find it so wierd that 3.5in drives never got any faster until years later, after CD-Rs, with Super-Disks, which never even caught on.
MSN search works very well, and is much more customizeable than Google's, problem is Google has a much larger index of the Web, which, ironically, is also a problem for Google searches.
When you install a deb, it goes out and gets any of the dependencies that you may need, RPM makes you go and find them yourself... which really isn't all that bad now, but back in the day, it was a PITA.
How would you feel if Microsoft did the exact same thing? My guess is you would be even more pissed than this guy is.
Really though, it's all about pleasing the customers. Instead of pissing off a customer and giving the cold shoulder (even if you, as the salesman know you are right) you should give the customer what he/she wants.
A simple fact of customer service: If you piss off a customer, they are going to never come back, and tell at least 10 other people about their bad experience, who then will tell somebody else "Oh, I've heard that they aren't good to do business with", and such.
Now if they had refunded his money, he would have told everyone how great it was to deal with the guys at the apple store, and encourage everybody to do the same.
At nearly every single place that is focused on customer service, they have a big huge sign posted up with a similar message as this one. And it is the truth. It really doesn't matter whether you are right or wrong, it's about reputation, and making your customers happy (which will get you much more money than the cost of that software, or whatever your product is).
SmarTags is not an 'obvious' thing, and definately should be granted a patent.
While SmartTags for IE were THAT as useful (though still useful, IMO), SmartTags for Office is probably the best feature that has been added to Office thus far.
The problem is, Google now answers to stock holders, who only want more money on their EXTREMELY over-inflated Google stock, trading as high as $211 (note that IBMs stock during the tech stock inflation was only as high as $115).
You should try MSNs new search, you can customize it so that it only searches more obscure sites (read, pages that don't manipulate page ranking systems).
It's such a shame, because Google's method for bringing relevant results, and now people take advantage of it and have made Google nothing more than the world's largest web index.
It's not really the same thing. SmarT....err, I mean Autolinks take keywords and link them to a group of services to provide extra data (like say for a stock symbol or a company name) on the specific keyword.
They aren't ads, although they do point to certain services (note, that's not all they could have been used for), but they were not ads.
Second, it's the web developers publication, if they want to put it on THEIR website, then it is THEIR option to do it, and then if you don't like it, you could have turned off the smart tags.
And as it was still in beta stage, who knows whether or not it would have been turned off by default, the fact of the matter is it was probably turned on by default simply because Microsoft wanted to make sure it was tested by everybody, and got feedback from as many testers as possible.
I have 4 computers @ home, plus, $6.19 is $6.19.
Thats $74.28/year.
Why is it that when we have a $.30 coupon for something we jump to use it, but when something is just another $6.19 a month to your >$200 power bill, it's nothing at all.
Now I can frag at even higher speeds.
The photos are not up to date, and are generally taken from 1997 or 1998.

NT4 also ran on Alpha's.
It does well with finding finding passive sentances.
Or how about when you you accidentally type a word twice.
How about Law and Order:StarTrek, or CSI:Alpha Quadrant

You can get to file security by holding shift when you right click. If you are connecting to work, then you should be using professional.
The only things not included in home are support for domains and one user level.
That's basically it.
Many products are deliberately crippled.
My Geforce 6800, for example, has all 16 piplines , which is what the Ultra have, but 4 of them are turned off, and thus the vanilla 6800 is born.
Light bulbs are engineered to burn out.
There are so many examples.
But really, who would buy this when you can pick up a full version off of your local street corner for $5

Google has 'targeted ads' as well...

I just broke down and installed a floppy drive on my system, it comes in handy once in awhile.
How exactly does Office suck?
How does IIS suck?
How about SQL Server?
Hell, give me a legitmate reason why Windows sucks.

Did you actually read my comment before typing, or are you just foaming at the mouth
Did you adjust the bar of obscurity? (really, there is a bar that you can use to set how obscure you want the sites to be).

So... my brand new P4 uses just a tad bit more power than that.
