This is mostly a Gamestop/EB problem. Having 2 million units for launch is not small by any means. I'm sure Best Buy, Target, Walmart, and Toys'R'Us will have plenty of stock on hand. Like many people above you said, it's probably the Gamestop/EB corporate center hoarding a ton of them to sell on their website in bundles.

It's not about "stepping up your game," it's about lowering your standards of living. I very much doubt that if a $125K/year engineer would keep his job if he starts working harder. They can hire 4 or 5 engineers in India for that price. And unless the American engineer can do the job of 4 or 5 people, he's out of luck.

I assume it's for the same reason Donkey Konga did covers of the songs. Something along the lines that they're buying rights to reproduce the song, not the rights for the original recording of the song. That said, most of the covers in Guitar Hero are done very well. It took a few songs for my untrained ear to actually tell the difference. I think it was Infection that did it for me.

Agreed. I loved the first season, but after that it just started getting bad. You can also blame it on ATHF since 12 oz. Mouse is made by one creator of Aqua Teens, and Squidbillies is created by the other.

I cheered at first, too. But I cheer less and less with every episode I watch. It's just not the same as it was in the first and second seasons. It relies way too much on its established base of fans to find humor in its self-referencing jokes.

And most of [as] is turning into crap, too. How I long for the old days of Sealab 2021, ATHF, Home Movies, and SG:C2C instead of Squidbillies, Perfect Hair Forever, 12 Oz. Mouse, and Tom Goes to the Mayor. At least they started showing new Harvey Birdman episodes last night. Venture Bros. seems to be going strong, too.

Well we saw what just happened with DICE. EA bought them, then promptly shut down their Canadian facility. IIRC, Ubisoft is a Canadian company, with a few locations in the country. Would EA also decide then that "they already have enough Canadian facilities," and then let the ex-Ubi workers go?

I'm happy to use gmail because I generally need to be on the internet to check my email. Maps, I'd like to have a free, easy to use, non-bloated map software that updates itself, but I haven't found anything (haven't really looked). Don't use calendar, I have Kontact and a PDA to keep track of dates, to-dos, etc.

Centralised productivity works if you can control where the centralized location is. If my (hypothetical) business were to use google calendar exclusively to keep track of meetings, appointments, etc., and Google went down, or our connection were severed from the internet, it wouldn't be pretty. But if I could run google calendar on a web server at my (hypothetical) business' location, I'd be happy with that.

I realize I'm not their target market. But my grandmom is not Microsoft's target market, either. They stand to make the most money from businesses who need computers that work together and need some sort of office suite. These same businesses should also be concerned that they can continually read their documents without having to pay some extortion fee.
