right. IBM wouldn't put those kinds of resources into SCO... it would be a money pit. which is why SCO has to find a way out of their own hole. I think (IANAL, et alii) that IBM is just throwing the court system around to prolong the thing until SCO can't do anything any more, but as has been covered in posts below, IBM may know something. I just don't see much ground breaking discovery coming from this.
SCO doens't have/want to spend the money necessary for the proceedings to continue
SCO actually shows the evidence they claim they have, and it is, indeed, damning
SCO figures out a way to get out of this mess scott free...
But even then, the counter suits, and residual suits for damages, etc. This may be going on for a looooooooooooong time. When will it end is, indeed, a good question.
As I said, the thought just struck me. But that makes sense; I didn't really think about it that way.

why has the PC become synonamous with X86? AFAIK PC still stands for Personal Computer... I haven't questioned the trend before, the thought just struck me.
I'd say it's not stable... it should be more related to an endothermic reaction... it pulls all of the money everywhere else into itself...all that cool money definitely chills the bank a little;-)
I've had 2 relatives die with advanced alzheimers, and I got to watch it take over their lives. I still am against this sort of testing. I find it ethecially wrong for these scientist to, in effect, play God with human and animal hybrids. Cure for alzheimers or no; this isn't the way to do it. There has to be some other way. There's always another way.
While it may not have been quite movie quality, the graphics on the N64 were quite amazing. I'm thinking of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (not too sure on the spelling, but you know what I'm talking about), IMO looked amazing.
The point is, the N64 made some major advancements in console graphics.
Will the video phones have half-megapixle video cameras? Camera phones, as you say, are pointless because you can't get any sort of use from the images (I know, better cameras are coming out for the phones, but video is something else altogether.)Will you be able to tell what you're looking at in these videos?
That's (presumably) the selling point for video in phones.
but, does it have REAL ULTIMATE WINDOW TRANSPARENCIES?
silly lameness filter... doesn't know the joke!:(

yeah... but can you imagine reading 90.41 pages a day out of the Encyclopaedia Britannica? It'd be tough for me to do that anyways, even though I read well over that on most days.
Exactly. For me, Vectorworks just doesn't cut it. So until Autodesk releases CAD for the Mac again (maybe by the end of this year, I've read) I'm stuck using both systems. It's really frustrating... I'd love to be able to do my CAD work on my Powerbook... but no dice unless Audodesk is gracious enough to port again.
The spyware problem is only made worse by Dell, e-Machines, et al. The systems come preloaded with spyware (Wild Tangent Web-drivers anyone?) and the (mostly useless) system restore disks have those same spyware programs in the images they use to restore.
PC makers should be doing a better job with this...rather than ship PC's with spyware on it already, they should at lease ship them "clean."

As long as I don't have to be the damn O's. I ALWAYS have to be the O's.
mayby it just Cruises along!

Well, it's no different than AMD's always done. It's a 64 bit processor, but it runs as well as Intel's 65 bit processor would, if it existed. ;-)
Keep in mind, that the quip you used is in no way doctrinal Christianity. Check your facts before making an argument.

Look at market shares. If Mac OS or any of the POSIX OS's had the market share, then there would be just as many problems.
