I agree with you summation on VB6, mostly. I worked on a largish project in VB5 / VB6 a while ago, and we had a few problems with the IDE crashing, but my unhappyness with it was that we would get all kinds of bug reports from the field ( NZ and Aus ) that we could never figure out, unless something went wrong in the runtime.
They dont scale it up, they ship the prototype, then bitch about how the software guys dont know their 3rd points of contact from a hole in the ground, and why dont they ship quality, and they dont know business, etc, etc.
Then, after the complaints, they try to scale it up, resume there, just as you outline.
On the Ghandi / Gandhi spelling. Gandhi may well be the best fit, but Ghandi is not that far off ( in my opinion, of course, obviously not yours ), and might well be accounted for in regional or other variations ( who is doing the transliteration ).
I, personally, think it is a bit strong to say the difference is an "error".
Then why dont they (the telco's) go ahead and offer this better service, and charge more for it? And if the legislation is "dont degrade service", why are they so afraid of it?
I disagree on the UI elements. The joypad is nicer, but it is not more intuitive. It took me a while to figure all that out. The SA system does have more buttons, and is more "clunky" but the affordances are better. I have pretty consistently had a harder time finding some piece of functionality on the Tivo, until I have learned the Tivo way.
I have both a DirectTivo, and an SA8300.

I suppose. But, then I have to ask, why are they bothering in the search engine space anyway? They talk about innovation all day long, but they dont do anything about it. They wait until someone else has created and nurtured a market, then they push their way in. How about they do some original thinking with all the great minds they have there, and do one thing that no one has done before?

You missed a step.

So, will that change it to 12 songs at 60% of list?
It will be 7 songs at half price ( probably still a profit ).
Yes, I knew that spellig was a typo.

I ran it thru Word's grammar check, and it liked
"Its" better. Course, I probably should have
used Open Office instead.
Its spelled 'spelling'.
And I think you have the "it's" wrong.
Also, I suspect that the name "Gandi" is a transliteration, hence,
as far as I know, multiple spellings are possible.
Or were you trying to be funny?
So, like, get busy? :-)
Yes. It does ( did? ) POP and IMAP.
I dont know....
Microwave cheese and you get oily stuff.....
The Chinese have already been there.
The old phylosopher dude, with the chair and the balloons,
and the gunpowder rockets.
Excepting that the "subordinates" are also "peers" in that they are American Citizens.

I dont think Joshua made a mistake, personally.
Someone seems to disagree with this sentiment.
Until the next Katrina type emergency that cant happen but does.
Then bloody murder will be screamed.
Aint we human just quaint?
Er ah, um, ach.
:-)
I mean "they are making movies that stink so much you
can smell them on the counterfeit dvd's".
Yeah, thats the ticket. Yeah.
How is that for pulling it out?
No. Perhaps it is time to give the moon a try.
Perhaps they are putting distinctive scent markers in the packaging?
Just a ( probably stupid ) thought.

They are waiting for the Core Trio to use the
"Moe, Larry and Curly"
"Moe, Larry and Shemp"
"Moe, Larry and Curly-Joe"
names.
It actually says
"Ho"
Cause that is all you can read.
Hard to call it a big bang. Times 10 is only
one order of magnitude greater..
So, are you claiming that there is a conservation of popups law?
Where were they all before computers started doing popups?
Then how about they put their money where their mouth is
and make google the default. It is easy to switch, right?
They should make a better search engine....
