"The most successful products are the consoles that treat their customers right. PS2 creamed the other consoles of its generation due to great games, an outstanding gamepad, an out-of-the-box DVD movie player, a low price, and backward compatibility. Even though the PS2 has the crappiest hardware of the 3 consoles it's still far and away the best seller"
But the Xbox where cheaper than a PS2 in the later part wasn't it? And it had a better DVD-player, xbox live, a harddrive, better hardware.
The gamecube also had better hardware, it to has a nice gamepad, it have the lowest price, and it didn't sold well.
So doesn't make sense to me, except that PS2 had most games, but that's what happen when you sell most consoles i suppose.
The real and obvious alternative is ofcourse that you want to be able to pirate or atleast run commercial titels aswell. With the GP2X you are quite screwed when it comes to commercial support so all there is is homebrew and emulators, with the PSP largest reason are probably that you can copy games, and it's also fun to be able to run emulators, and even if you ignore the illegal piracy stuff you can still atleast run emulators AND buy games to play on it (althought you probably want to rip those or something so the console doesn't upgrade.)
I would still prefer YouTube because shared profit probably means they have to make more of it, which means more ads, and when it comes to ads I say no:)
We both know that Xbox probably have only outsold the Gamecube and even managed to sell good at all because it was easy to get a modchip and pirate games real early. Where "we both know that" might have to be read as "Imho the".
How the f-ck can Microsoft excel in titles? I don't give a shit about car and sports game, and I haven't played the killer title on Xbox. Since when does it have more or better titles than Playstation anyway? And where are Zelda, Mario, Metroid and such?
Maybe for you in USA there isn't, ask any gaming Japanese and I'm sure they will think different.
"no Blue-Ray"
What? Are you only trolling?
"no "it's-not-a-console-it's-a-computer""
We don't know that yet do we? If it comes with Linux and you can start up a desktop it is, isn't it?
"PS3 is too expensive"
It probably have better hardware than the X360, it's backward compatible I think which means it has a shitload of games, it's price aren't much over X360 premium and I think online gaming is free, you get a next-gen DVD-player and a real HDMI-output.
I don't want to read your long post, but you are wrong.
Final Fantasy was for Nintendo in the begining, there are still Final Fantasy games made for Nintendo, and if Wii is succesful I'm confident there will be more. Metal Gear was also a Nintendo title, and twin snakes for example exist for Gamecube.
A lot of the "You can't play this game on Gamecube"-titles exist for it (Just using that as an example since I know what exist and Gamecube is probably the most underrated system of them.)
Also if the titles are great and if another console catches up what says they will stay exclusives? I doubt FF is somehow made only for Sony since that not where it's from from the begining? I still think it's awkward that titles such as Megaman shows up on Sony, I've always thought about that as an Nintendo title.
But I guess that I prefer ports to all consoles before having to buy all of them.
I think I've read that online gaming on the PS3 will be free? Compared to a price for the Xbox360. So if you compare the Xbox360 price + live price it's not that far from the PS3, and if Bluray picks up you get one of those players for the PS3 to, and it not atleast you get larger and nicer movies in games and better textures, the HD-DVD addon for the Xbox360 will probably add some cost to your console if you want it. Also the PS3 comes with Wifi and HDMI and HDMI isn't possible to get at the Xbox360 at all ATM. HD-gaming with analog outputs? Yeah, very good thinking. HD-video with insecure video outputs? Yeah good luck with that to Microsoft.
Uhm, you say the DS didn't got any titles? Sure as I said in another reply I don't care that much about games like Wario ware and Yoshi touch&go which is more or less technical demos, and sure we'll se a bunch of those on the Wii (for instance Wii sports which seems decent, and some game where you navigate a "body" thru a maze saw in pure pwnage.), but I've hopes that we'll see some real games once the developers get the console. In any case have you compared the DS titles to the PSP ones? On the game forum I browse something like 90+% of the members says the PSP got no nice games at all and the DS get everything. So are the DS games really that bad? I've even seen a guy saying he haven't touched his Xbox360 for the last two weeks since he got his DS.
Here in Sweden I belive many of the people who have already bought an xbox360 will get a Wii to, I even saw a comment on a forum from one guy who was worrying over his perfectly working xbox360 because others had failed and where asking others if he should sell it and wait for Wii since he thought it would have better quality. I guess Sony have a lot of fans but as I've hear it from most people here they prefer the Xbox360 since they have similair expectations of that and the PS3.
Personally I'm quite confident the Wii won't sell last, and I would be surprised if it sold the most. In any case it's my choice of console for two reasons: 1) It's got the characters I love of nostalgic reaons and 2) The two genres I play most are possible to play on it (Strategy and FPS, althought I don't know how good strategy might work.)
We'll just have to hope the third parties get the console and decide to develop for it, and also that they decide to make real games and not only technical demos, chances are many of them won't understand it in the begining but I'm quite confident they will pick it up later.
See early DS games as example, Wario ware and Yoshi touch&go anyone? I don't give a shit about games like those, and not games where you have to use the stylus instead of a butten just because you can either. Just use it when it makes sense.
Ok random insert-your-own-inappropriate-word-here guesses what consoles will have sold the most 2 years from now? Oh, awesome, how I've longed for this day to happen.
Also he is dead wrong since he belives the Wii will sell the least amount.
... is freaking lasers beaming the energy all over the place, it would also look cool each time a bird tried to sit down on the beam. Ground units 1 - Air units 0 (or should that be 1 - 1 due to the total pwnage they have had over us so far?)
Of course the focus from Sonys point is to have native games (and movies...), it's not like they are the ones makeing the emulators and stuff.
;)
If I want something like the PSP I guess I would wait for Gameboy 2 or whatever it might be called

PSP is region free to, and I suppose the GBA are aswell?
"Long" was 32 chars thought ;)
r e suck!
But anyway, we also had kingcon!
Amiga rules, Windows, MacOS, Linux, *BSD, Solaris, HPUX, SCO-UNIX, Syllable, SkyOS, insert-name-of-your-really-cool-alternative-os-he
But who uses a shell without tab completion anyway? mo done, and no silly numbers to remember/look for either.

You speak like having KDE/QT replaced with Gnome/GTK is a good thing?
.. ;D
I think both desktops work and Beagle seems cool, but you know,
We both know that Xbox probably have only outsold the Gamecube and even managed to sell good at all because it was easy to get a modchip and pirate games real early. Where "we both know that" might have to be read as "Imho the".
Don't be so harsh on him, he probably just bought a PIV EE to ;)
Since when does "is by far the least" mean better? Gamecube got more competent hardware than the PS2, get your facts right mister.
How the f-ck can Microsoft excel in titles? I don't give a shit about car and sports game, and I haven't played the killer title on Xbox. Since when does it have more or better titles than Playstation anyway? And where are Zelda, Mario, Metroid and such?

"the performances are worse than xbox360"
Says random dude on the Internet?

Yeah and last generation they where all looking at Microsoft which have never made a console earlier? BS.
Yeah right, like that will ever happen.
I wouldn't be surprised it Wii had sold more than Gamecube within 2 years from launch.

Can't you promise to eat your hat (or shorts or something) _when_ Wii sells more than any of the xbox360 or ps3?
The people who bought it early?
I? Atleast wished for, but Nintendo did a bad job in Europe compared to Sony.

Exactly my thought. How very smart of them to fuck it up in some other way we don't know shit about.
Omg, their promo video - That's hawt!
