    Who knows what the price point would be if they had have used Embedded Linux, firefox and OO instead.

    Or better yet, Linux, IPSec, and xorg-x11. It'd make a pretty sweet (and cheaper than usual) X-Terminal for a house that already has a (Linux/BSD/Darwin/Whatever) computer.

    Then again, I have seen the odd protestor break windows for kicks in Montreal. In particular, people who don't seem to be interested in the protest at all, but who enjoy the havoc created.

    They're called agents provocateurs, and they're why it's important to record before and after the turd hits the fan. They can often be seen being brought into or out of the protest by police vans or others known to be opposed to the goal of the protest.

    No, I'm saying that nuclear reactors came before nuclear weapons and proved the viability of the fission chain reaction. Electricity generating nuclear reactors came much later.

    I'd hope it would lead to "consumer" fusion in the same way that nuclear bomb research led to nuclear fission reactors.

    Actually, it was the other way around.

    the first thing that came to mind was "I bet they're using PearPC code without attribution.".

    And I just thought "I wonder where in the small print they attribute PearPC.". They could have burried it in some legal mumbo-jumbo, and so long as their wrapper doesn't change PearPC or include any parts of it, but does make PearPC source available for download, they're scott free. Now it looks like they've not even done this, so they are in violation of the GPL.
